I recruited a player who had average potential in speed. After 2 preseason games he went from average potential to red, without gaining a single point! Anyone seen this before? Is this a bug?

Points go up by tenths I beieve. So, it is possible he went from a (for example) 43.1 to a 43.3, and that set him over the edge of average. The ratings you see are just rounded to the nearest whole number.

caesari's got it -- values actually contain decimals and what you see is the nearest whole-number depiction. So if your "average" potential was, say 7.15 points of growth, the guy might have improved by 0.25...which wouldn't necessarily trigger an increase in his rating number (69.9 and 70.15 would both show as 70, for instance), but the improvement would be enough to bump the color code from average growth remaining down to low growth potential.

Yeah it's a bummer, but that's how it works.  At least now that we can see potential at all times, you find that out right away instead of noticing halfway through the season that your guy with "avg" potential has gone up 1-2 points.

look on the bright side - you know he will go up exactly 20 points...

That would be bright, but this guy is only going up 6-7.

This player qualifies for the "the lowest side of 'average' ever" award

my bad - usually these are from high to average not average to low - I should actually read stuff sometimes I guess...

no real bright side to this one then...sorry about that...

Geez dac

With us seeing the potential, it gives us an insight into how the improvement works. People always suspected that there were improvements and declines that weren't noticeable but now this confirms that suspicion. Every season I see guys go from blue to black or black to red without gaining a single point.

When you guys scout and get a message on a recruit who is already average in FSS, how do you determine his growth. I had a player who had average RB and got a message in an Eval that said the player had good upside if he works at it _something to that effect. What would be that players expected growth?
