Ive heard great things about d2 iba and I am moving up next year and joining. Anyone got any recommendations as far as conferences go. I'm definitely looking to stay for the long run. Thanks!!

Well, Heartland is full, but I am considering not returning. Never could get that West Florida team turned around. So, be on the lookout for an opening there.

We hope caesari comes back, but if he leaves come join us in the Heartland conference!

CVAC and Heartland are the top 2 conferences right now, and both are full. The Gulf South is an excellent 3rd option if there are no openings in CVAC or Heartland. DII Iba is great, you should have fun..

N Florida in the Peach Belt is a B prestige two-time National Champ that needs a coach quickly before their prestige drops even lower.  Good conference that needs a few more coaches but always has extra recruiting money from NT teams.  Iba is really competitve in DII, which makes it both fun and challenging.  Come join us in the Peach Belt.

Central Atlantic is a pretty good league too, just have a couple of Sims weighing down the bottom of the conference which obviously affects our conference RPI until we get those jobs filled.  Always have several tournament teams and usually a team or two that make a pretty good run in the NT

The Great Lakes Valley is up and coming.  We have 4 teams who are locks for the NT and a 5th that's very close.

If there's an opening in the Heartland or CVAC, grab it (see caesari, mduncanhogs, and bbunch above).  Next season the two conferences are starting the Heartland-CVAC challenge during non-con.  All of the other coaches/conferences that have posted here are very good too.  Just pick a reasonably full conference and enjoy the competition!

DII Iba, more than any world I've been in, has a lot of great parity and excellent teams across many conferences - and the Iba Forums are pretty active, so there's a lot of cross-conference chatter.

I would rank the top conferences as follows (as far as a combo of conversation, competitiveness, and overall RPI)
1. CVAC
2 Heartland
3. Gulf South
4. Great Lakes Valley
5. Central Atlantic

Those are your best options, in my opinion.

Oh ....and don't quit, Caesari. Even if you can't get the team turned around (which I think you will), you're always good to have around for the conversation.  :)

Thanks, bbunch. I'm going to drop down to D3 for a few seasons, and then rejoin the Heartland, hopefully back at West Florida.

?????  I think you should just stick at W Florida.  If you're having a hard time just post in the forums or sitemail me.  Unless you're dropping down for some other reason.

No, no particular reason, other than that I feel like I should learn the game better before recruiting in a full conference.

caesari - jump on N Fla in the Peach Belt.  Conference isn't nearly as full or as competitive as the Heartland, so you'd have more success at both recruiting and wins/losses.  And you'd still have the enjoyment of Iba DII.  Come on, man, do it, do it!

I've got my eye on 3 jobs. 1 in peach belt and 2 in central Atlantic. Excited for hirings!
