Experiment Teams Topic

What are some experiments you all have done with teams or would like to see?
I remember at one point there was a team where everyone had the same first or last name.  Does anyone remember that one?
I've always wanted to see a D2/3 team w/ 75+ Per from all the guards and at least forward.  To go with them all the bigs would be 80+ in rebounding.  Pretty much a team that if you play out on will kill you on the boards.

You can usually see that team at SIU,E (coachbillyg) just about any season in D2 Tark.

Some ideas I've toyed with:

An all-international team;

A team entirely recruited on the last day

For last-day teams, look at Polo's NYU team in Wooden. He always recruits last-day only (if at all).

Johnson St (in Wooden d3) used to be all-Johnson. So hard to GP for them...

I've been pretty close to an all international team.  It is doable, but to be competitive you need a few fillers.  Its also really expensive if you have any desire to know potentials.  I think the most I ever had at one time was 8, and I did it by accident.

Try to load a team up with high passer ratings to mitigate the effect of a really high distro and see how high you can get the distro on one player and have him still be effective?

Since you can't buy FSS for it, i'd consider Puerto Rico international.  So if someone set up a team like that from one of those schools it'd probably easiest.

I created the Billy_Graham profile to try to make a team that had all players with names found in the Bible. I chose Nazareth (Jesus' birthplace) for the school. Somehow, in the 4th year there we won the National Championship. I didn't use that strategy when I went up to D2, but I am doing it again at Liberty. It's challenging, because only about 15% of the player pool is eligible for me to recruit.

It would seem like at Liberty you should try "President names" or "Signers of the Declaration of Independence" or something.

LOL - That would probably be really tough. It's hard enough limiting to just Bible names. I think I recruited two Johns and 2 James this time. I picked Liberty because it's a large Christian University (started by Jerry Falwell). By the way, I am Chapelhillne in all other worlds except  Rupp.

I've always thought that was the coolest idea!

1) Do you just use the Christian Bible?  I know there's a Book of Joel in the Hebrew Bible.

2) Does spelling count? Would you accept a Steven for Stephen?

3) Do you accept other words from the Bible..... Cross, King, Masters, etc.

4) What about Biblical occupations?   Miller, Baker, Butler, Cook, Fisher, Hunter, Carpenter, Smith, Potter, Mason, Sheppard (spelling)?

Just the signers of the declaration are 56 people, then you add in the presidents thats a nice long list of names.  Then if you look up you can add the names of v ice presidents and double that number. . .   You can still get plenty of names out of it.
