Is it worth having two defensive studs on one team Topic

I have one scholarship remaining, I already signed a player with high ath/speed/defense... who will finish in the low 20's/30's in the rest of his attributes (this is in DIII). There's an identical recruit who I am considering going after to fill my final roster spot.

Is it worth having two of these type of players on one team? I run a FC press. How exactly can I utilize them effectively? Do I stick them on the other teams best offensive player, or do I leave them at SF?

20's and 30's are kinda low but I wouldn't worry about it to much....just set their distro to zero...and have them play the same position.

I very rarely run FCP so this may be a dumb question.  Does where you list them in the depth chart really correspond to who they guard in a FCP?  I was under the impression that HD's version of a FCP was basically non-stop traps and double teams.  What you're suggesting sounds an awful like M2M.  Not being a smartass, just really don't know.......

think - just from trying to glean from the box scores, which is incredibly dangerous - that it basically works like a man once in the half-court but you've selected to double team everyone all the time.

I think the answer depends on your remaining options and your philosophy.

If it were me, I'd take the second guy in a heartbeat.  Some coaches prefer to mix it up more with offense.  Others, for whatever reason, will take players with crappy DEF just to get high LP or PER.

What about taking them both and redshirting one of them?

IMO at D III you can never have too many high ath high spd high def players.
