I believe it comes down to "do you know its wrong and do you do it anyway". I now have two teams, two usernames, in two worlds. I have had as many as three usernames and 10 teams. I had the other usernames because I wanted to move up to D2, and once to D1, but keep a team in the D3 conference I was in with a great group of guys. I never used scouting information from one team to recruit for another. Sorry, thats just not me. I wasn't even tempted. I knew it was wrong and so I didn't do it.
I know a few great coaches who have multiple teams, in multiple worlds, and I know for a fact that they are just like me, and cheating doesn't come into the equation at all. We play the game because we love it, and win or lose, what's the fun if you have to cheat to win? There is no satisfaction in that.
I will also say that I have seen coaches sharing information about FSS, or offering to in CCs. If it is someone I know, I send them a SM. If it is someone I don't know I send a ticket and ask Admin to send a friendly message to the coaches. I know some may know it's wrong and do it anyway, but I would like to believe they may be new and just don't know better and a friendly message from Admin is appropriate. If someone is cheating, knows its wrong, and keeps it hiden, I feel sorry for you. I really do. Its just a game amoungst friends and it may say something about your ethics in your personal and work life. I hope not, but I can't judge you, I can only judge myself.
This post may sound preachy. That is not the intent. I could win a lot more if I had the time, or was willing to search for shortcuts. I don't. But I do enjoy the game and my friendships here, and I respect the game, my fellow coaches, and myself too much to cheat. But that's just me.
