Should I RS this guy and take the WE drop? Topic

Hey guys, I RS'd this guy and his WE dropped by 5. I have never had it drop so little so if I keep it on him is that all I will lose? Take a look at him and let me know.

He is high potential in everything but shot blocking, ball handling and free throw, those are all average potential. I think with a RS year he could be a stud for D3 once he reaches all his potentials.

This is a no-brainer, leave the RS on.

Thanks girt - this is the first time the drop has been so minimal so I wanted to make sure there were no future effects

I have had success with leaving guys who reject the RS off of my depth chart and then trying to offer it again after the non-conference schedule, by that point they accept it with no drop in WE

If he's dropped 30 pts, sure, that would be something you could try here. Might or might not work.

But just think about the opportunity cost of each decision ... that would be crazy to try in this situation.

what is the opportunity cost here?  He is still practicing in either scenario.

That his WE could drop more the next time he tries it.

His we could also drop while he's not playing but not redshirted either. If leave the rs on.

I think that freshmen WE can't drop based on playing time unless they were promised minutes/starts. Not positive, but I believe it's the case.
