Okay this is getting unbelievable. It's probly cuz i just lost my 1 vs 8 tourny game but i really don't care.

End of a game i lose by 3, i have 3 FULL TIMEOUTS and one 30. Against a full court press. I can think of no scenario where a coach wouldn't be throwing timeouts from minute 6 to 0 every few possessions to keep my starters in. Instead i used 2 30's. One with 5 seconds left.

This is such a simple part of basketball and is really the only thing that gets me truly angry.

And the fact that i don't think I've beaten a fullcourt press team that was any good in 3 seasons. I simply avoid it bot not scheduling anymore.

Rant over. Does anybody know if this a topic currently on teh table to be looked at??

why did u run slow down when you have a big edge in speed, athleticism, and stamina?  did u see that dartmouth hadn't lost to a team running slow down all year?

Good point, yanks, but it doesn't speak to his question.  I can think of no level of basketball where a coach doesn't use the full allotment of timeouts 99% of the time.

if you actually look at box scores, you will see plenty of games at lots of levels where folks dont use all their time outs

for example, if your team is superior in both depth and ability there is no reason to slow down the game - just let the kids play

I run slow down most games cuz I play good D. Just the way I do things. As you can see I only average giving up 55 pts a game in the later half of the season on 38% FG shooting

There is when you have a send out 4 bench players in the closing of a game. Even if mine are better than his cuz my team is deeper, I would like to think my starters can shred them.

Game has changed a lot over the years.  Now with the TV stoppages, you can get by with using less TOs.
