Spotlight coach from the HD Archives - Plumpy Topic

He was not just one of the most well known of all the pioneer coaches of Hoops Dynasty.  He was also larger than life.  His posts were among the most welcomed and enjoyed in the HD forums and he enjoyed tremendous success becoming one of the first coaches to rise to the Elite programs as he was hired at Duke in Naismith which was widely considered by HD users as the elite world as it was the first world and usually the first world to receive an SIM engine makeover.

His rise to fame was quick and impressive, and just like that he retired.  He left Whatifsports.com with only a short adieu and was only seen lurking in the forums once or twice afterwards.  He is gone, but his legacy lives and the giant one is definitely not forgotten.

They even created a HBD world in his honor.

Where can we find out more about him??

Don't know if he's still around, but seeing as it's just past Mothers Day and he does treat the ladies with respect...there hasn't been a petec mention in a long time.

In Hoops Dynasty, how do you approach recruiting? How much of an edge do you think your strategy and subsequent results give you per season?

Plumpy

Envision a pepperoni pizza. You can have a pizza with too little sauce or too many pepperonis or even an undercooked crust and still technically call it a pizza. But when everything is just right you have a perfect work of art. That's how I recruit. I look for a void on my team and try to fill it. I never produce superstars...just cheese and pepperonis who fit nicely with the rest of the team. I don't know if it really gives me an edge but I like to coach this style.

I miss Petec.  Best. Poster. Ever.  His constant use of the phrase "the female dog known as Admin" in nearly every post was priceless.  BEST. POSTER. EVER.

Petec is ahead of my time but I remember seeing him coaching at Georgia in some world, anyone know which one? Maybe he would come back to the forums?

He is at Georgia in Smith.  He is a legend as both a coach and a forum contributor - but he is relatively quiet these days.  IIRC he had a son a couple of years ago, which may have cut into his HD time a little bit.  (No word on whether Admin was the mother.)
