I agree about the ratings. My team has won 3 of the last 5 NTs in Crum, and is highly ranked again. But my overall ratings are 9 points less than your team.

My guard, Bennett, is  619 but the points are in important areas, not REB, LP, or DUR

kyle-I know you said you read the Forums, but read them again. And again. There's a ton of useful info in here and there's always some well-respected Coaches that will give advice as well. The best thing to do is find a mentor-they are invaluable. You have to weather some seasons making mistakes before finding some level of success. And once you're comfortable with gameplanning, recruiting, etc. etc. continue to read the Forums as there's always something to learn whether you're a novice or a veteran. Just keep on plugging away and ask as many questions as possible.

I do honestly appreciate the responses. I get I'd get waxed against a power house but my conference teams aren't great. Read the post in entirely. The 3 losses at home to losing to 2 lower teams on the road. The thing that's ticks me off the most is whatifs careless responses and they think people are goin to stick with this game? Obviously the similar thought I was good enough to be ranked for 10 weeks to only bend me over in conference. I could handle 12-9 in a tough conference but to many losses I couldn't disagree with more. I have read a ton of forums and I get I lack some in athleticism, but compare it to my competition and not last yrs national champ.
what would you have liked support to have said to you?  do you think support should send each user who complains a full analysis of their teams strengths and weaknesses and an evaluation of its game plan?  what sort of response would have been non-careless?

I guess those sarcastic jabs are hard to see when they're bopping you in the chin...

They are a robot in their responses.  Maybe point out a couple things why they think i lost.  Didn't need to be an essay, but a couple of statements instead of copying and pasting.

There is always one idiot like yourself that who takes what he reads to the extreme and thinks i'm little for a research paper type analysis.  If this game was free then you can understand cheap help.  But when you pay, you expect a little more.  Sorry i've been in the business realm for 15 yrs.

Completely understood, I've done the exact same thing you have before (Armstrong Atlantic State v. Montevallo) to a cavalcade of naysayers, hissers, and GFYers of all kinds...you're getting off rather easy here, and hopefully you learn something from this...I learned to gameplan more/more closely...what will your thread do for you?  If anyone has fought the WIS pendulum, you're reading him ahora.

seriously man... when you ask for help, and people try to help you, and you act like dicks to them, telling them they are stupid and wrong, despite YOU asking for help and them knowing a thousand times more about the game then you... well, then you get what you have coming to you. i DONT think kyle deserved those quick negative responses he got, those were uncalled for. if his 2nd post was telling someone they were mentally retarded for suggesting he read the forums, and then told the other guy hes an idiot and plain ignorant for not caring about overall ratings (why else are they there?), and then made about 50 more posts about why overall ratings were so important and everyone else was wrong (didn't you do that, exactly?) , then i could see you making a comparison. but not now. and, i would even venture to say, kyle has thanked people for responses (in a non ridiculously sarcastic manner), and showed interest in having a logical conversation, which is what differs the MOST from your thread.

and besides, people tried WAY harder to help you than him, there were some really good responses and insights in the thread you reference. this thread, some people helped, for sure, but a lot of people were supremely unhelpful. the only similarity is some people jumped on you early on and it really wasn't called for, either. and that sucks. i almost wonder what you would have been like if people had given you a fair shake. i suppose the world will never know! but you certainly didn't do anything to try to improve the ratio you got - of good, helpful posts, to worthless negative posts - and you certainly did plenty to make it worse. god help us all if kyle makes the same choices you did :) but, i really and truly just can't imagine there being another colonels :) although, you seem to have lost your former enthusiasm to wreak as much havoc as possible. im not sure if you lost the desire, or just don't have quite the same energy, but its definitely not the same. almost disappointing, really :) i mean, the whole "i fought the WIS pendulum" line is a nice touch. but come on, cant you do better than that?? wheres the fire and brimstone?

If were venting, can someone explain this one to me (luckily the loss was to Garman who is one of the nicest coaches in this game and therefore I just said GG and moved on without a CC tirade, but this feels like a good spot for it!):

Lol, I guess I have a little less time on my hands now, and there's really no point in going off like that (even though I still think I was right)...this is still maybe the best game I've ever played, and I don't have a lot to be ******/unhappy about...**** happens, and I've probably been "screwed" since, but it happens...gameplan better, don't give pseudo-randomness a chance to make a mistake ;).  This isn't a knock on anyone here because I enjoy a great many of you, but most of the time, I have better things to do than hang on these forums...I kind of have a thread starting in my head, but I want to keep it on the down low for the time being, because people have gotten on me about this before, so hopefully everything works out how'd I'd like.  Take care.

If you still want the show, friend me on facebook...you'll get it ;)

Kyle don't give up on HD because of CS, they suck and we all know it. I'm not a very good at this game at all but I love it and it took me along time to start to understand how some of the ratings work together. If you would like some  friendly input site mail me and if I can't help I'll find someone that can.

I appreciate all the kind responses. I should have obviously chose a different topic title, but couldn't believe I lost again in conference. I figure I.ll go about. 500 next yr with my srs. Leaving and really banked on having a chance at the tourney. My cousin has a team on here too which he has a mentor now and have gotten some info from him. I don't plan on leaving right now and I'm signed up for one more yr but don't want to take 10 yrs and $100 invested to win either. I've played fantasy sports for yrs and use to finishing top 3 in every yr. I will continue reading the forums and see what the next yr things. Thanks again for all the responses. At least it made an interesting day. Lol

Overall rating has 0 value in this game. A guy can be rated 800 with 100 in WE/STA/DUR/LP/PER/SB/BH/P, with 0 in everthing else. He looks good rated 800 with 100 in some nice areas, but will be completely useless on the court. The lesson to take from this is you should never judge team talent via overall ratings.

I just bumped the "How to win at D2 and D3" guide. Take a look at that if you haven't already, and good luck!
