I told a guy during recruiting that I wanted to RS him. He reacted badly, the only way I could get on his list (even after more scouting trips) was to tell him I wouldn't RS him.
He is a good enough player that I signed him and he will start by the time he is a junior, but he would be that much better with a redshirt season. Has anyone ever had any luck redshirting a player after telling him they wouldn't? I am hoping that when he gets to campus and sees all of the guards in front of him maybe he will accept it.
