because it was easy, and i thought it might be interesting to see, i added 1, 30, and 40 year dynasties. i figured it would be cool to see who had the best season last (although thats obviously not a dynasty), and how many dynasties go back that far.

If we needed any more evidence that ACC recruit generation is broken...

Thanks for posting. Are these the ones that are weighted for world strength? I've always wondered about the Upstate2 vs. CAC1 vs. SoCal10 based on world strength...

yup, world strength goes into everything. when i post "unweighted" for current conf dynasties, that means all the seasons are worth the same amount. i also had previously published a weighted list, which i think we discussed once, where for example in the 10 season conf dynasty, the current season is worth slightly more than the 2nd more recent which is worth slightly more than the 3rd most recent, and so on. the current approach is really a "team of the decade" approach, more like, when you look back on this period, who was the best. not, in the heat of the moment, who is the best.

57, is currently where the CUSA project in rupp stands in the 5 year. the CUSA in world 3 is at 47, the highest of mid majors. that conference has such a good group of coaches, initiated by girt/daalter, it will be interesting to see how high they can get it.

now, 57 and 47 might sound pretty good, but i think this whole list is very telling. there are only SIX big 6 programs, 10 worlds, thats 60.

there is only ONE mid major who even cracks the top 55. you'd have to think, the bottom of the barrel big 6 confs, in less than the 10th percentile, can't be *that* hard to pass. but apparently, they are. the worst big 6 conference is 65th.

i think that just goes to show how ridiculously skewed recruiting is right, now, in d1, towards the BCS conference teams, especially the high end ones. 

Recruiting, and prestige. If seble indeed does something to make prestige more reliant on on-court performance, that will certainly help bridge the gap.

I enjoy seeing the Allen ACC at the top of these lists and all-time lists. Good motivation to not slip up!

i feel the same about the GLV in tark. makes it seem like everything ive ever done to keep that conference going was more than worth it. if only there was a way to decide who the best conference was across divisions! both seem to have substantial leads over the field, in all time periods, and believe me, i looked hard to make a good argument that the GLV had to be #1. but i couldn't make it - nor could i find a good argument for the ACC in allen (admittedly, i wasn't looking as hard :)  i guess i'll just have to accept being part of one of two conferences who can make the claim for best ever. could be worse :)

ill give you that d1 competition is significantly tougher, but when you look at the overall ACC advantage in the lists (ACC in general), that ACC baseline prestige factor is pretty significant too. i also agree that in general most coaches would rather be in d1, and the number of people with dream jobs in d1 vs d2 is massively bigger (especially when you compare the ACC to the GLV). but i don't think that really has anything to do with it!
