Practice Plan Ideal Strategy Topic

I am wondering if some more of the seasoned/successful coaches would give their take on my practice plan strategy.  I have read the posts on the topic and up until now have been trying to maintain all different categories by alloting some minutes (3,5,7) to each category.  Should I be using all the mintues from some categories (C-PE, for example) into more important categories (C, LP) and not worrying about the player's unimportant categories falling?

Should I always be trying to increase the cores first or should I be trying to adjust the player's attributes to my team?

Along similar lines, is there a definitive answer or place to look to find which categories have the greatest multiplier by position and is that the correct way of thinking about allocation of practice minutes?

Thanks for the insight

I like giving time in each category but I put more minutes in cores. If a skill goes red I put it at 3. I have a freshman PF that has high in almost everything. I put 11-12 min on cores and 8-9 on non chore skills. I also put 20 min on off and def. Unless I run press/2-3 zone. Then I put 12 & 13 min.
I try to develop cores first.
And I'm not sure about the last question...

generally speaking, address the position-specific cores first...and only if that player is low potential (if there's more overhead room left in numerous other categories) or maxed out would I shift minutes into a non-core area.

also, ATH and SP are typically key multipliers across the board for all players, you really can't have enough of either.  Not to say a Steve Kerr type with dead aim from deep but not much in the way of other slashing and scoring (or defensive ability) can't be an important weapon to have, but most successful coaches will focus on getting premium ATH and SP first.

11 minimum for free throws - until I get the capped message and then zero

I never go below 7 minutes on FT, even if  "capped."

What do you all do if all categories are maxed out?  I usually lower all to around 3-5 and jack up the ath/speed.

why no talk about study hall?  i'm huge into that and it helps grow players faster

How does study hall help players grow faster?  There is a (typically small) correlation between high school GPA and IQ growth rate, but no correlation between their active/collegiate GPA and any kind of improvement.  I think 99% of reasonably successful coaches will agree that player growth is maximized by finding the smallest number of SH minutes you can give your guys without having them go ineligible...

There's been a lot of sarcasm posted in these threads lately.  Please, please tell me that this is just more of that.  Please.

agreed, a 4.0 GPA is necessary for the "career placement" stat, which is hidden but contributes to work ethic.

I go 5 for freshmen, 3 for soph's and zero for everyone else and have had very few AI's.  Obviously adjust at the mid term.
