Man, they really do come out of the woodwork to jump on a guy who just wants to be able to enjoy his honeymoon and not have to totally sacrifice programs he's spent considerable time building and start over...  Seriously, he even offered to pay.  If I were a better owner I would try to help, but nobody wants me handling D1 teams.  It's fine if you don't have the time or inclination, but I see absolutely nothing in any of the OP's posts that invites all these asinine responses...

On my honeymoon, I had a laptop and five minutes to fill my final remaining scholarship while my wife finished getting ready for dinner. I think it was the day after signings started. I grabbed the first decent guy I saw, a SF named William Eddy. He ended up becoming my school's all time leading scorer.

He was decent ;)

I could set up your game plans no problem - I'd be leery about recruiting for Texas though.  That's just skerry unless you have some explicit instructions on how much you're willing to spend for certain guys or who you want to battle for vs. who to let go, etc.

But if you're needing someone just let me know.  Sounds like you have a few volunteers if you can filter through all the douchebaggery going on in this thread.  If you find someone that is just all about recruiting and doesn't want to game plan then I'd gladly log on for a few minutes each day and set up your plans.

Thanks for all the offers to help.  I've found guys to take over for me.  And who knows, I may not need them at all.

Congrats and condolences Pokes.  Coming from someone who just celebrated his 18th wedding anniversary a few days ago, I'd just like to forewarn you that life as you know it is about to be over.  Kidding, of course.  Once you've find yourself a good one, you'll never regret it.  Again, congrats and enjoy!

Once upon a time, there were many, many people within all the worlds who were both able and willing to help out a conference-mate or even just another coach who had some real life issue come up. Real life happens.  I'm betting that those people are still here in HD and many new ones just like them. Seems that they would mostly prefer to avoid the trolls and ******* who currently dominate the forums though. Too bad. The forums used to be a great place to learn and share. The entire HD community is poorer because of that development.

sad, but all too true. the OP nicely asked for help, like so many coaches before him, i really don't understand where all the meanness and negativity comes from =(
