... cut Frank Trower?  I picked him up at the end of recruiting last season for 2 reasons.  First, he was available late and I figured his ATH/DEF alone made him a guy I could use for depth in a season in which I thought I was going to be more successful than I was.  Second - and this is the main reason - he still has high potential in PER, and I was interested to see how much of perimeter shooting success is determined by PER alone.  If I hold onto him I'll actually be able to finish that experiment and fight out if high-70s or better PER with poor speed (AVG potential, so it won't ever be average for an SF) and horrendous BH still results in a decent 3-point shooter.  I honestly don't know what to expect in terms of an answer to that question.  Of course, the reality is that even if the answer is "yes, he can shoot," he'll still be a turnover liability without a huge amount of upside anywhere.  So the question is, would you consider the experiment worth it?  Or if things fall nicely my way and I wind up with some extra cash as signings approach, would it be worth risking cutting the guy in hopes of signing 4?

cut him. fairly useless player imo.

I disagree. He is athletic enough to backup the PF spot in D III. His per will be a nice punch off the bench. Defense is solid as well. Decent low post for ok FG% on 2 pt put backs. If you truly find an extra player you feel strongly about, then cut this guy (and let me know so I can pick him up with my final opening) otherwise I'd use him to backup the 4.

I personally would cut him. He doesn't have the rebounding to be a 4 and his Pass/BH aren't good enough for a 3

In division three flawed players who are strong in one area are quite usable.

I agree with dacj. He's an OK backup big at DIII depending on what you've got. If you can't use him there, then I'd cut him loose. Alot of teams in DIII could use him as 4th big.

Does it matter? Even if his lp/per are both high and will max out at 100, how would you play a 62ath/21spd/22reb player? He's going to get smoked at the 1/2/3 spots and will be a huge reb liability at the 4/5, not to mention a defensive liability at 17blk if he plays 4/5.

IMO at d 3 he will not be a huge liability at pf rebounding with the 60 something reb. he will average a little less than most starters, but be a respectable backup, and his per should let him score a bit on most backup bigs.

I'd keep him.  Let him play mopup for PF and SF.

I am with tianyi on this.....I don't see where you could play him.

But then again, since I accidentally joined your conference, play him against me.

I am with tianyi as well. Cut this guy. You're running a zone and he has no rebounding. That will get you killed on the boards from the 3-5 spots. He's honestly too slow for the 3 spot and also has no SB which is very important in zone. I would have cut him once I saw 22 REB and 17 SB.

But he's at 23 reb...

I would cut him, 23 is too low for RB. I have run a few PF's or SF's out there with 40-55 rebounding, but 23 is too low

cut him. no way to play any player with that reb/bh/pass, who is not exceptional in any way.
