DIII->DII no longer automatic Topic

Just a note about a recentish change: it used to be that anything short of killing your power forward would get you to DII after just one season.  But that's not the case anymore - my 3-24, RPI 360 season at Whitman has left me unqualified for every job in DII.

I think that's a good change, personally.

Damn one more year at that terrible new jersey team I picked.

Good! Best change the game has made IMO

Yeah, that's good if only to keep noobs from getting steamrolled in D2 before they learn the game.

Been this way for a while now.  Probably for the past two years.

When I first started playing it was like that, and then for some reason you could 0-27 in your 1 season and get a D2 gig, glad it's not like that anymore.

I moved DIII Bowdoin -> DII Tarleton State last September after a season of 11-17, RPI 344 ball.  So I thought it was a change.

that sounds ridiculous to me. Back when I started in season 21 Tark, I was lucky to even be considered a long shot let alone qualified until almost 6 seasons later. I had records of 7-20, 19-10, 15-14, 13-15, 15-12. I was finally listed as qualified when I made a sweet 16 run in season 26.

I've said time and time again (and the debate has raged here) that you should have to earn DII, not just walk into it with a non-NT season in one year.

Glad to see it moving slightly that way again, but of course, to each their own.

Forget "to each their own", asher - it's a good change!

Curious as to why you would say that?
