Recruiting differences between division one and tw Topic

Ok.  I just moved to a division two team - with a fair IQ (A-).   What are the main differences in recruiting from d3?  Should I add something like ten or fifteen points to the ratings I looked for at d3?

I add an overall of about 50, but I think the main difference is that you will get more players with better potential.

Well, I was more talking about the individual ratings, not the overalls.  Like the cores.  For example, if you were looking for a fifty in d3 should look for a sixty in d2, or something like that.

I haven't played D2 for a while, but look around at some of the top teams in your division and that's what you should be aiming for

Looking at 'overall' specifically when recruiting is not ideal.

It's all based on potential. I have recruited pgs with 30-40 passing that have high highs and RS them. I've also refused to recruit a player that has 70 in passing already because their potential is low, etc.

I try to get my cores to 70 in DII as a benchmak.   Eighties are real good, and nineties are dominant.....

I think a 10 point increase is a good rule of thumb. It is what I use when recruiting at different levels. For example, for PG speed at DIII I use 60. I use 70 at DII and 80 at DI.

Assuming projections from potentials, I generally shoot for a guy who will get into the 70-80 range of core categories. Like joe said, 80's are good, 90's are dominant in DII. anything below 70's and you should hope to get someone better later. Of course, things don't always go as planned either.

look for aejones' thread how to win at D 2 and D 3. A lot of discussion on this there

Ryan, add 10 pts per level.
Good rule of thumb and pretty simple answer.
I like 50 spd,... 50 ath for my overall average in D3.
60/60 in D2
an 70/70 in D1.
people can go on an on about you can't say this or you can't do that. If you had a figure you liked in D3 for a skill and you won with it... add 8-10 pts and roll on.

Cool.  I realize its more complicated than that, but I figure I want to start with something relatively simple and then I can figure out how things go from there.

exactly this. This is how I learned to recruit well in DII.
