RS Logic improved Topic

Crum recruiting just finished up and I offered a red shirt to Dave  Parks a C I signed who is 441 overall. When offered his WE took a hit of 16 and he was upset with the decision. I thought that players would take into consideration where they stood on the team?

Parks is the 3rd best center on the team behind JR Flowers (584) and SO Washington (551). If you also consider PF's which I do since they are pretty interchangeable then he is the #6 ranked C/PF.

Am I correct to understand that now that he has had a negative response to the RS he will have the same response each time? How would a player be upset that he is being RS'd in this instance?

The new RS logic wasn't released for Crum, yet.  It starts today with all new rollovers.

I thought he meant it will take effect 6/26, not that he would implement for all worlds after.... I guess my only recourse is to shake my first at Parks and take the WE hit

Seble said position was no longer relevant in determining his place on the team.

It takes effect 6/26 for all rollovers going forward, not for a season that had already started, even if the only thing that had started was recruiting.

And, jsajsa...false.  he said just the opposite, well sort of the opposite:

Each player will be evaluated by a position-specific formula that weights each rating relative to how important it is for that position. Then the player being redshirted will be ranked within the entire team roster, and his response will factor in that placement. Depth chart is not used for this, just listed position.

Exactly, "ranked within the entire team roster." That's exactly what I said. His place on the team is no longer relevant to the position he plays but to the entire 12 man roster.

I wasn't aware it was begin applied to all rollovers starting now. I had thought he meant it was coming out this morning. Ok, news to me.

Yes and no.  There is a new formula whereby certain categories are weighted for certain positions.  Strictly speaking, you are correct.  But because of the weighted factors, position is certainly still a factor, and it also makes it whereby you can'y just look at the overall ratings and say that the 12th ranked guy is the lowest ranked.  Because we aren't privy to what is being weighted, and how much, we have no way of knowing excatly how it's going to play out just yet.

Right, again exactly what I said. I said "position [is] no longer relevant in determining his place on the team," meaning a player's place on the team is on 1-12, not the 3 guys who play the same position. I did not say, "position has no effect whatsoever in the hidden formula that decides a player's standing on the team." :)

My presumption would be its rated by the default player roles numbers ...

So, to make it so that people didn't put redshirts on and off until the player took it, Seble made it so that the player would have the same reaction every time.
Does this mean that we will be able to put a redshirt on one player take it off and try it on another player and if he doesn't take it we can put the redshirt back on the initial player without worry that he won't take it (assuming he took it the first time)?

My understanding is yes...the kid's reaction will be the same every time you stick it on him, so "shopping around" to find the best redshirt fit would seem to be possible under the new system.
