At d1 it takes way too much to get fired.... obviously. I wouldn't be too concerned with Tulsa, but it annoys me that A+ Baseline schools like Kentucky have coaches who can't  make one NT in 7 years, and they are still there. This is not pretty tho...obviously WIS doesn't want to fire any coaches as they are generally too closed minded to realize that holding on to the one client who they refuse to fire may result in them losing 3 more due to frustration with the firing/hiring process.

Not too angry about that Tulsa Coach, he took over a D- school, got them up a full letter grade in prestige. He also won 9 conference regular season titles with two NIT bids. Not terrible for such a school, which should have low expectations if it went to a D-.

The resumes that bother me are the elite schools that don't do jack, not so much one like the above.

If he were fired, who would take the job? The resounding answer is no one which makes him a much better option. If WIS would lower its prices and get more players, I could them being more strict with job security, but until then, there's no reason to fire a coach like drewholst.

He's finishing the season with more wins than losses which can only help you with rpi at the end of the season since I'm sure under simmie they would be below .500. I have no problem with him. I do however have a problem with a post about why someone isn't fired, pretty classless the way I look at it!

was wondering about the 'not fired' as well......personal?
6/26/2012 4:04 PM
No, it's not personal at all - I mean, I have nothing against him at all and I'm sure he's a great guy.  But I was under the impression that you had to make the NT occasionally to stick around - over 20 seasons without an appearance?

Seems like I'm in the minority, though.

All those regular season championships are keeping him employed.  That same resume without most of the con titles would def result in a firing.
