The intellectual recruit? Topic

Just got some very well worded responses from a recruit, are these new or have I just been unlucky enough not to get these?

Generally, it is only when the whole family is gathered around exchanging gifts, that I feel as warm and appreciated as I did after opening your letter. Knowing that Kenyon is even remotely interested in me has brought upon me an irreplaceable smile.

To contact me and show such interest in my future and abilities was but a pleasant precursor to the wondrous news that I received today when I heard of your promise of playing time. I am almost convinced that nothing could make me happier over the next four years than to take the court and put my mind, body and soul on the line for Kenyon.

I am shocked some computer programmer was able to write that response!

I've seen that response once before.  It's not new, but it is rare.

I wonder, never looked, but is it connected to high school GPA ...

The guy is a JUCO with a 3.5, I guess he's an English major.

Before the recent changes, I also linked that response to a player that was very unlikely to go pro early.

He's a JUCO who plans to spend four years playing for you? Obviously he's not as intelligent as originally thought because he's completely unaware of NCAA eligibility rules.

there are no new responses - wouldnt it be fun if WIS invited users to submit proposed new responses and then started using some of them - it would enhance the fun and all they would need to do is look at the submissions, toss those that are too foolish and plug in the good ones.

Not necessarily.  Most of tkimble's recruits require twice as long to graduate.   Even then, some of them are surprised to find that, instead of a diploma, they receive a McDonald's application on Graduation Day.
