I may be alone here, but I do want it a bit more random than just "overall-STA-DUR" that makes guys most likely to leave early.

Also, is there anything coming through regarding multiple players leaving teams early? In particular teams who either have lower prestige or who haven't had postseason success? The BC/Naismith example from last season essentially cost us (not WIS, but the league) a good coach, and after this season's SIM run, probably at least 5 seasons of having a crappy team in there... and I'm sure there are plenty of better examples out there.

But it would be much better than what we are seeing now.

Here's another EE-quality guard that is sticking around for his final season in Rupp.  He's on the B+ OSU Beaver team.  Guess the 69 Pass rating is what's preventing him from going EE.

+++.  fwiw, i don't believe the system is broken.  a substantial majority of the players listed as EE were good enough to go early.  The complaint seems to be that there were better players that didn't go which seems to be a failing argument if you want some randomness.  If you can show me a draft where numerous players left early that should not have left then i may change my thought process but i have yet to see that.

SEBLE, your doing a very good job but constant changes aren't going to add to the stability that this game needs.  No system is perfect and this customer thinks your doing a good job.  Please slow down with wholesale changes every few seasons though just because a few coaches don't like the last change.  Thank you for your time.

I disagree with namshub. Why not fix something that is broken? I will add, however, that before a change is made it should be clear that the fix is better than the status quo.

i don't really know what's going on but i've skimmed the thread and it doesn't really seem to be that hard. flip a weighted coin which is pushed by some combination of overall rating, core ratings, team success, and "personality." i don't have enough d1 experience to know if it's broken, i dont' think i've had many or maybe any at utep.

namshub, what's being discussed here isn't good enough to go early, it's the fact that all the guys going early are still bigs, and that was supposed to be fixed.

I wonder whether the Rupp result is some kind of artifact of the change between old and new schemes......dont know enough to tell
7/10/2012 10:54 AM
I agree with the sentiment that it should not be more predictable.  The random part of the EE process is a good thing.  IMO, the EE process should have been left unchanged.

If there is one thing that should be fixed is to lessen the chances of multiple players declaring from the same team.  The elite teams get killed by making the top guys always declare.
