Division Two or Division Three - Feedback Please? Topic

I've enjoyed some success at D3 Hamline (TARK), but with my conference mates all moving on, I'm left all alone in the MIAC. I typed up a nice long explanation of everything, but the forum ate it, so here is an abbreviated version. I'm looking for any and all sort of feedback.

Options after this season:

1) Stay at Hamline.

2) Move laterally (or backwards) to an opening in a human-filled D3 conference (ODAC, University, USA South).

3) Move to D2 (ideally GLVC).

Any feedback on the best course of action?

I'll answer any questions as they arise, but I am not typing everything out again in this first post.

Abbreviated version - I have a nice OOC tournament at D3 that I enjoy taking part in, but a conference schedule filled with sims is less enjoyable than a very competitive one filled with top-flight human coaches. While I enjoy my role and history at Hamline, I'm not sure it is enough to justify staying with so many sims. I have a very strong resume, but like having players (and facing players) with significant flaws, so I am not going to jump to D1.

#2)

Pro: You're a proven coach that could easily rebuild, active conferences are better, USA South would love to have you!

Con: All of the big D3 conferences recruit in the southeast, finding studs these days can be a challenge.

As an alum, I can vouch for the activity and friendliness (not to mention coaching skill) of the Lone Star.  Eastern New Mexico would be a fun gig - they're up to 10 humans now, too.  The other open job is TAMU-Commerce.

Thanks for the heads-up cornfused.

Looking over their Coaches['] Corner and some resumes, they do certainly also seem to be worthy of consideration if I opt to move to D2.

zbrent there are a lot of strong conferences in DII Tark.

GLV is almost always #1, but it's not guaranteed there will be an opening and you will always have competition for the job.
Midamerica is usually #2 and have 1-2 openings right now I believe.
#3 usually goes between CCAA, lone star, and penn st.

Now to sell my confernce :)

CCAA has 3 openings right now with the defending national champ, 7 users made the NT (3 into the sweet 16), and we do it with more sims than penn st and lonestar (we had 4 openings last season, they had 3 and 2 I believe). We are talkative and competitive.

We had a spot open in ODAC.  Geez, zbrent.

Come to the Freedom conf and we can dominate the NC every season!

D2 would be my choice.  D3 just has too many sims.
edit: Although I'm not in Tark so maybe it's different there.

If you want a challenge in HD's best d2 conference; GLV.

*edit* however you can't just say 'I'm going to the GLV"...Spots don't open too frequently.

"HD's best d2 conference; GLV."

Now that the ODAC is full I would definitely come to the USA South and join in the Southeastern bloodbath.

Palm Beach Atlantic would be interesting, but it would also mean giving up my OOC tournament, which I'd certainly want to try and keep if I stayed D3.

id wait till something opens in the GLV and jump! i don't know if anyone is leaving this season, we've had an opening at least every other season for the last six months or so. but we've also went 3-4 seasons at a time without a single person leaving. so could go either way!!
