What do you think of this guy? A role player in D1 D+ prestige man/motion. After potentials. Is the BH too low?

as a role player in low prestige D1 I think he's alright if youre just getting started out.  obviously you'd prefer to see the ath/def higher but at that stage you need guys that can fill certain roles and he's obviously a good shooter. at D1 it's also nice for your guards to have even just a little rebounding but if he can come off the bench and give you a little scoring then he's fine.  he's not going to be on point every game...going to struggle at times to get his shot off without better athleticism or ballhandling so he will be a little hit or miss but i dont think he's unreasonable for the level you're starting out at

So this 99 Per guy can't put in 10 mins a game and score 5-7? It's not like he's starting.

If he's in the ACC you'll have an issue, but he's in the friggin' A10, he's a fine player.

compare him to Dominguez or Hagans on my NCSU team. He'll be OK as a backup. I don't love the ATH or D, but he can play just fine. I'd take him even with or ahead of 2 Gs on TJ's Rutgers team. At D+, that plays.

I think this guy is a defensive liability and at best an average scorer.  If you have to wait two years to get those numbers you are better off not having him.

Players like that will keep you at D+ not improve it.

I assume you mean:

Willis  - Who will be a 75/75/90 defender
and
Ecklund- Who will be a 70/90/80 defender

TJ builds around Defense....

Look at his conference-- that guy gets minutes on every human-coached team in there... and I didn't bother looking at the SIMs. Nobody is saying this guy's a world-beater. But he'll put the ball in the hoop some and give him 10-15 solid MPG if needed. If you don't value PER at all, he has no value. I happen to like it.

I disagree with that completely.  No idea what the conference is like as far as population, but most times at D1 the conferences are empty and youre going to get to play Sims in conference and you can schedule them out of conference for a season or two so you can win games and get off of D+

Like someone else said, in a big 6 conference the guy is a liability for several reasons.  in a low or mid major conference where you can't get 3 or 4 studs every recruiting period you have to hedge your bets and go after 1 or 2 real good guys and then pick up 1 or 2 that can develop and fill roles.  This is a guy that can do that.  I've taken guys like this when I've started at low prestige D1 programs and it hasn't hurt me one bit.

I don't know, I look at that guy and think he is a backup on a good DII team.

He probably is.  Good D2 teams are going to be able to beat a lot of D range prestige D1 teams.  But even at D1 he's a backup role player who fills a certain niche with his shooting to get things going while you beat the sims and improve your prestige.  You're going to have guys like that when you build D1 teams.  The money you save from getting a guy like that that you can probably get for cheap also helps you land those one or two really good player that help you actually improve your prestige.  Nobody is saying the guy is gonna be a mid major superstar and he will probably never even start, but that doesn't mean he's not useful in a certain role.
