You should get recruiting cash early if you stay Topic

Two days is a short time frame to do pre-1st cycle recruiting research...you should have an option to start recruiting early if you commit to staying at the same school with an extra season

I agree.  I don't know if they don't want current coaches to have an advantage over newcomers or what, but it would certainly help if you could get FSS sooner.

You really don't think two days is enough time?  Not asking in a sarcastic or smartass way, simply curious.  I personally find that it's plenty of time for me.

+1. I don't really like this idea.

Sometimes the two day window is inconvenient. Plenty of important events take up your time for multiple days: marriage, the birth of one of your first three children; Steven seagal movie marathons on spike, Ramadan, Cortez Kennedy's hall of fame induction speech, explaining to colonels how the term "US State" is not redundant, spartan death race, thanksgiving at the Sweetney residence, saying grace at the Tebow residence, dreams within a dream within a dream, etc.

Who is Seble to say HD recruiting comes before all this?

Here's the thing, if they admit that getting it early is an advantage, then they admit that 2 days is limiting in some capacity...which supports the argument for extending the time where possible.

Outstanding!  Guess I forgot about some of the more "important" things in life, hehe.

I must have missed the "US State" argument.  How did that come about?

It wouldn't be that big of an issue at all.  Work it such that if you change programs, your FSS scouting - and consequent budget drop - come with you.  The new coach at the old school gets the money back and isn't stuck with your scouting.  Which, frankly, would be better than the system now where you can take over a school and have had the previous coach already having wasted your carry-over money scouting states you couldn't give less of a crap about.

I think you would instead have to make a decision not to leave, buy selecting an option to forgo the jobs process, to be able to do it early.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with the current process though.

Problem now is if you get cash early, you can FSS all 50 states, copy recruiting info, then jump to a diff school. If you are willing to forgo the job change process (say you are the A- Baylor coach and in the last cycle UNC opens up and you cannot apply) then sure. But thats a huge tradeoff most coaches wouldnt be willing to take.

Or you could do what I said and have your FSS go with you...  But yeah, don't bother reading that.

What happens in cases where you FSS for 17k and your new school has 0 scholarships?

And now those coaches with multiple teams in 1 world can actually FSS share without any detriment to the team providing the FSS.

That would never work. You can use FSS but you're no longer able to change jobs. Simple.

That's the solution, but if you implement this policy, imagine the # of posts in this forum about how they "accidentally" FSSed a state and now can't move into their dream job, etc.
