First, I would only potentially recommend something like that for newer coaches. Veteran coaches should very easily be able to just look at their roster -- ratings and iq's -- and know who their best scorers will be.
Beyond that, the results from two games are such a tiny sample size, I don't think they matter at all. In reality, they can even be more misleading then they are accurate.
There are no actual player personalities that go into how many shots someone takes or doesn't take.
Well as far as this being a newer coach thing, I guess it could be, but for me it was more about studying the engine. Sure I can look at my roster and say hey, I want these people to score and be done with it and take the results for what they are. However, I feel that by studying the small details like player personalities, I can put a team together that has a better chemistry vs. just looking at ratings.
I agree it's a small sample size as I stated previously, but with this player last season he dominated all through noncon and fizzled to almost nothing by the time CT started. Yes i play subpar teams in noncon, but I still feel this player should be able to compete with elite schools and still dominate in conference. Maybe he just doesn't have the personality for it?
This I don't agree with. I've gotten the "teen wolf" emails and have seen players who were given little distro take way more shots on average than they should. Whether these emails have any correlation with actual in game play I'm not sure, but I can say I have noticed there are players who flat out just get more shots than they should in comparison to other players on the court who are playing the same amount of time and even more so than the player in question.
