Recruiting messages - backup messages Topic

Is there a thread that lists the different responses to calls and indicates which ones mean you are a backup and/or capable of pulling that player down. I just received a message saying something along the lines of "it would take a miracle...do you believe in miracles?" I want to believe that this means I could successfully pull down with enough scouts, but I wanted to check before throwing money away.

it means forget it

what does this one mean?

___ ___ showed a moderate level of interest in us coach. He wasn't sure how well he'd fit in here. Can you 'do' anything to help convince him?
9/23/2012 11:05 PM
that means you can recruit him now.

I've gotten that message quite a few times, Jack Duck. I always thought he was implying that I bribe the recruit... Either that, or wack his entire family.

this message got me my  very first probation since I thought it meant to use boosters to convince the player...

it does just mean that he's open to regular recruiting efforts and doesn't need to be pulled /drop down

thatbt,

Your message means forget it you have no shot at this player. Do NOT throw any money at this player as it will be completely wasted.

jack_duck,

As others have said, this player is open to recruiting right now. By "do" something, your guy is asking you to put effort into recruiting him if you want to land him.

Are you guys sure it means you don't have to pull the guy down?  I got it from a guy on my D1 (projected) search list, and I'm a D2 school.  If I didn't need to pull him down, wouldn't he have dropped down to the D2 list?

They will always tell you in the first one if you have a shot or not. Will say a backup option.

If you send one scouting trip and they eventually are willing to give you a shot they will contact you. If you want to gamble you can throw 10 or so scouting trips to a backup to try to pull him down.

I sent a scouting trip to the #185 C, he said backup and then he contacted me, sent him two campus visits and he signed. He declined minutes too lol. I'm only an A prestige. #skills

A lot of upside

is he within 70 miles? my guess is yes - guys within 70 miles can possibly be open to your effort without dropping down to your d2 search.

Yes, sorry forgot to mention that. I always search D2 guys under 100 miles.

I just looked and he was 80 miles away. He's a JUCO (3 years), not sure if that matters,

This is the contact email he sent me

I'm looking to be a big fish in a small pond so to speak and those other schools don't give me that. Call me if you want me at N. Park next season.

vegask,

That last message has always signaled to me that the guy is willing to play for you if you only throw him enough effort.

My first time seeing it. I only just pulled a D2 for the first time last year. It's pretty awesome. Definitely makes me excited to keep playing and see how he grows.

Yeah that's exactly what happened.  Sometimes guys will stay on the higher level search even after they're considering you.  That message was definitely a "I'm open to normal recruiting" message.
