Actually, AK is 99% at SG in my favorite season of his so there's a good chance I'll end up using him there.  But that really depends on who's available in later rounds.  I was intrigued to use him because I never have and his stock has been rising in recent seasons, but I may end up regretting not going with a more conventional player.  It would've been hard to pass on Ginobili if he'd fallen one more spot.

Okay, so is my team better with the 2 2nd and 2 3rd picks, or should I have kept the 14th and played it straight? I guess you have to keep in mind, as improbable as it was, that Karl Malone fell to 14. I probably would have Malone, Brand, and the best available point guard at this point (which wouldn't be that great with Rondo going ahead of my 3rd round pick).

Karl Malone and a 5th round pick are much better then Noah and Davis, but that's not really the question. Having so many picks so close can make your team better by managing the cap and covering other players weaknesses. 

I think you picked 4 great players, but I don't love the team make-up. 

The problem that I see is the duplication of picks at the SF position. Brand and Davis are SFs in this league. Noah is a PF but one of his best seasons in this league is as a 24 mpg SF. What you have is a great defensive front court, slightly better than average rebounding at best, and below average EFG%. Karl Malone is a top 10 pick and a beast of a steal at # 14. I would have liked to see the Malone/Brand combo.

Actually scud I have been mostly been drafting just pure Doo Doo lately and not much McAdoo. I like McAdoo in another league better.

My plan was to draft Walton at # 45 and then go for another undrafted fave of mine in round 3. That plan blew up.

Then since I already had MJ I figured that I could put up with DeAndre's low usage in round 2 since I was picking again at # 52 and there was a lot of talent on the table. McAdoo's ability to play a ton of minutes won me over. At the end of round 6 I may be stuck with guys that can only play less than 10 minutes per game.

I appreciate the analysis. As my five year old would say, the "chitter-chatter was my favorite part." I plan to start all 4 picks and Brand will play all of his minutes at the 3 (Wallace at 2, Davis at 4, and Noah at 5). I certainly have holes to fill. Now is when it gets interesting.

I dig my squad so far. 9000 minutes, 5200 pts and only 480 tos. I have more blocks than tos right now. Average D of 87 and a 54 efg%.

I love Moses probably best next to Wilt at C.
I've never used Ewing so I don't know how
that will work for you, maybe or maybe not?
Deron Williams is a solid all around guard
but with his high usage% will he steal too
much scoring thunder from Moses and Ewing?
Nash and Deron Williams together? Should be
interesting. Platooning Edge and Andersen at SF
is interesting as well. I like Jon Barry as your 3rd
guard. How this team does depends on Williams
and Nash meshing in the backcourt, and as I said
earlier if Williams doesn't take away scoring thunder
from Moses. Final Grade: B or C+.

9. SLYMONIUM
Good start with Shaq, and I love Billups in the sim.
He's never fallen to me in the Funk 52. I only used
him once in the ODL a few years ago. Larry Nance
could work nice with Shaq depending on your next
frontcourt pick. I like Okafor up front with Shaq and
Nance. Moon platooned with Leonard at SG, solid.
Bogut off the bench for Shaq and Okafor another
solid pick. Final Grade: B

10. JHSUKOW
Well a great first pick with Kevin Durant,
I wanted him myself! Durant is most effective
at SG, and pairing him with Payton doesn't
work for me, Payton looks for his shot too
much. Drummond provides good rebounding
at low usage. Let's see who you find to play
with him up front. Lanier at C with Drummond
is O.K. I'm not sure but it looks like you are
going to use Durant at SF with a backcourt
of Payton and Parker, and that doesn't work
for me. Green and Iguodala are solid off the
bench. I guess you could have Iguodala in
the backcourt with Payton or Parker? Final
Grade: C

11. PENNSYLVANIA
I don't remember if Larry Bird is position effective
enough to play SG, if so then let's see who you
pick up front, otherwise not enough rebounding.
I love Bobby Jones and Mo Cheeks, but with
Ibaka at C and Bird and Jones at the forward
spots not enough rebounding. Final Grade: D

12. HOOPSDUDE
So far I like what you are doing.
I assume Barkley will be at SF where
he is most effective with Marion at PF,
and Boerwinkle in the middle. If you are
using Barkley and Marion the other way
around, I'm not sure about that. How well
Drexler will do depends on who you pick
at PG. Darrell Armstrong and Drexler together
mmmm maybe? Bledsoe and Millsap are O.K.
off the bench. If it meshes between Clyde and
Armstrong this could be a good team. Final Grade: B+ or C+

13.YSW128
The group you have so far, Wade, Rondo
Mourning, and Ray might work O.K.,
But you desperately need at 3 point
shooting SF! Kermit Washington up
front with Mourning and Ray? Raja
Bell off the bench with Doc Rivers.
Not enough 3's for things to work
for this team. Final Grade: C

well i think i just locked down that turnover title(and the scoring title?)

but nash was too good to resist...shocked a couple of teams passed on him...porter too

I was really hoping one of the two would somehow slip down to me in the 5th. But I guess that's karma for being able to snag Drexler.
