Thanks dh. Nice evals so far. I do love Sabonis. Hel'll play 20 to 21 minutes at center. Zo will play 27 to 28 minutes at center, 4 min at PF backing up Russell and then 2 to 3 minutes as a 3rd string back up SF backing up A.C. Green. Not the ideal rotation but it shpuld work out okay.

Great minds thnk alike I guess. I really had pegged Ryan Anderson in round 4 but then when I realized that Zo would never make it back to me in round 5 I took him instead. I'm glad that I did that because my only back up plan, if I had taken Anderson in round 4 and Zo was gone, was to take Patrick Ewing in round 5. Ewing get snapped up right after Zo. I had my hopes that Anderson would make it to me in round 5 but that won't happen in a league with sharp owners.

I was surprized to see Nash there for me in round 3. He's a perfect fit since Dr J is my 2 guard.  Nash will be the 3rd scorer on this team which what I think that he really should be in a league like this. Joe Dumars and Green are extremely effiicient players. They rarely foul or turn the ball over and their defense is pretty good.

Oh yeah what about Russell? He won't shoot too much on this team and his rebounding, assists, defense and low fouls make him a super role player for 44 minutes per game. I could have drafted Duncan in round 1 and then gone after the good rebounding bigs later on but I didn't like their fouls and lower defensive ratings. Plus, I have done that already. The challenege for me was to see if I would be able build a contender around Russell.

My issue with my team is the same as it usually is in this league... I never spend enough money on my drafted players and end up with a surplus of minutes because of it.  It's really annoying, actually.

it's basically impossible not to have at least some surplus in this league

mikee1 - Magic Johnson, Shawn Marion, Bob McAdoo, Clyde Drexer, Dale Davis, Stephen Curry, Andris Biedrins

The McAdoo/Drexler picks in round 3/4 make this team my favorite to win it all. Both should probably go higher. I love the Dale Davis pick, he was great for me during last seasons championship run. He's a great offensive rebounder, which is what you really needed from that spot, and he plays good D without fouling a lot.  Curry fits nicely as a backup to Magic and Drexler and Biedrins gives more rebounding help.  No real weaknesses on this team and I expect Magic to dominate for you. Scary team.

dh555 - Chris Paul, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, Carlos Boozer, Emeka Okafor, Ervin Johnson, Ersan Ilyasova

I loved my start. I was thinking about going for a crazy stl% team and run press. Was going to go after AK47 and Alvin Robertson. Kinda wish i would have stuck to that plan, it would have been a fun team. Grant is my favorite rebounding SF so I couldn't resist taking him. Boozer is weak on D but should be a beast scoring in the paint for me. Haven't used Ervin Johnson before but his numbers are solid and I needed his low usage. Ersan is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, not many SFs who can rebound like that and add some 3s. Should be a solid team, but is nowhere near as good as last seasons team. I don't like my chances of a repeat.

katernberg - Hakeem Olajuwon, Deron Williams, Gerald Wallace, Willis Reed, Josh Smith, Charlie Ward, Oliver Miller

Too early for Hakeem and too early for Deron. The starting 5 has too much usage imo. I think it's important to have those low usage role players to make your stars shine as bright as they can. The defense is pretty awesome though. Lots of steals and blocks. And with Wallace at the 2 you should be good on the boards. I think fouls could be a problem and you probably won't be beating teams from the line or downtown. I think you will definitely win some games with that defense but the Hakeem-led offense will probably hold you back from making any real noise.

tarheel1991 - Larry Bird, Shawn Kemp, Wesley Person, Sammy Dalembert, Rajon Rondo, Chris Webber, Jon Barry

Bird was a no-brainer at 17, the only question now is which season to use. Kemp was a nice 2nd round pick and should be a nice #2 to Bird. I like the Rondo/Person backcourt, the compliment each other very well. Sammy and Barry are good role players who do what they do while also playing solid D. Not a fan of Webber here but I'm not sure what season you're using either. Too many fouls for sure and no one is really helping Bird and Kemp with FTAs. Should be solid on the boards and Rondo and Bird provide plenty of assists. I see the offense doing very well with Bird having another MVP-caliber season. Should be a playoff team.

Usage on my starting 5:

Hakeem 28,1%
Deron    23,4%
Josh S.  22,3%
Reed     22,1%
Gerald   20,4%

In my opinion thats a pretty balanced squad with a clear picking order...

yea...its really just my opinion...its not like your gonna be in the usage penalty or anything

im just usually a fan of having low usage guys mixed into the starting lineup

20 usage points... Way too many.  But in this league you're going to have too much usage or too many minutes I think... and since you're taking possessions away from Dream, that's probably a good thing.

bluenote75 - Karl Malone, Chauncey Billups, Robert Parish, Serge Ibaka, Raja Bell, Mark Price, Paul Millsap

Looooove the Malone/Billups combo. That's about as deadly a FTA combo as you can get. Parish drops to the late 3rd...again. Did no one notice him being the key big man on the title winner last season? Sure the defense is bad for this league but its a steal getting such a great paint scorer and rebounder that late. I like the Ibaka/Millsap combo at SF, you definitely needed boards there. Bell provides tons of 3s and very good D but I've never been a fan simply because he does nothing else. No boards, no assists, no steals, no FTAs....but no tunrovers or fouls either. I love the Price pick. I think you needed more usage, more 3s, and more assists with the back up guard pick and you nailed all 3 with Price. Rebounding will probably be the weakness on this team but I think you have more than enough to cover that. Malone always seems to be on contending teams, this one should be no different.

98average (2) - Ben Wallace, Kevin McHale, Terry Porter, Walt Bellamy, Bobby Phills, Jameer Nelson, Art Williams

98 loves those old school big guys. Bellamy is better than I, and others, give him credit for but I still don't like him as the teams centerpiece. Of course, I don't know which season of his your using but I'm guessing it'll be a higher usg% than McHale's. If it's not then I'm excited to see what McHale does as the teams go to guy, it could be awesome. Porter and Phills is a nice combo in the back court. I'm surprised that Phills season doesn't get used more in this league. Efg% is very good, Big Ben will keep you solid on the glass and the D is nice. Looks like a playoff team if Bellamy does well.

scudmissle - Artis Gilmore, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Walt Frazier, Andrei Kirilenko, Vlade Divac, Steve Novak

Seems like every league a big time guard slips in the 2nd round to team up with Artis. Kobe will take that slight to heart and should have a monster year for this team. I'm a big Gasol fan, he went right were he should have. I just hope you use his best season. Frazier and AK47 make this a very good defensive team. Looks like every starter passes well too. Not sure what this team doesn't do well. I would have said 3s but then you went and added the games best backup 3pt shooter(move over jr smith) in Novak. I have him in the ODL and he's on pace for 240 3s. He only plays 15 min a game! Incredible. Really nice team Scud....should be a contender.

xxevilivexx (2) - D Robinson, D Mutombo, Marques Johnson, A Hardaway, Paul George, Howard Eisley, Mark Landsberger

I'd normally slam ya for not using DRobs best season(losing out on better d, higher fg%, and boards) but I can see why. Mutombo will team up with him to scare the living sh!t out of anyone taking the ball to the hole. You also did a nice job of covering up DRobs sub-par boards with Margues at SF and a very good rebounding back court. Oh and of course there's Landsboarder helping out as well. Penny in the 4th might be the steal of the draft. George was the perfect fit at SG. I usually prefer a better passing SG next to Penny but you did get extra dimes from DRob by using that season.  FG% isn't great and you don't have many 3s but the defense and the DRob/Penny combo should be good enough to get you into the playoffs.
