ughh shoot sorry i had checked earlier when the draft was held up but i was out for the night ill pick now
It's kinda late now, but shouldn't krishnaman not have been skipped as much as he was last night? You shouldn't be able to skip someone until your own time slot is up (for instance, if you miss your time slot by 30 minutes, you shouldn't be able to be skipped by ten people who happened to be waiting at their computer - only by the person/people whose slot(s) is/are up).
yeah i agree, i dont think bryce should have been able to make his pick until today morning. it ended up not really mattering tho b/c i wasnt planning to pick ridnour or kenyon martin but i see your point
The rule in most draft leagues that I've done on WIS is that you can pick whenever the person in front of you picks, even if someone is skipped in the interim. That's what dh made the rule for this league too, at least as I read the front page:
"If you miss your draft slot time then you will be skipped and the next owner can draft as soon as their time starts,
with the next owner after that free to pick right after that. The skipped owner can make that pick anytime they want."
Now, I think either way (the rules or what you suggest) is reasonable. I think, though, that the way it is makes sense for a couple reasons. First, it keeps the draft moving, and keeps one person from slowing the draft down. Imagine if you had someone go AWOL for a day or two - once they got skipped, everyone in the entire draft would have to wait for their timeslot to pick. Second, it makes things easier for those drafting and for the sitemail system - when you get a sitemail that it's your turn, you go pick. It would be more difficult if you had to check to make sure every other owner had picked in the interim. It can be difficult for some people (especially those posting from mobile devices) to read through the thread to make sure every prior pick has been made. Third, it encourages people to pick on time. Your pick slot is only guaranteed until an hour after your timeslot begins - after it's over, you could get skipped by multiple people. That's an incentive to pick on time, whether you have to send a proxy or what.
Anyway, it's OK if some want to wait before skipping others - that's their right. But the way the rule is written, you can pick whenever the person in front of you picks, even if your timeslot hasn't come yet. I think it's pretty fair - and I say that as someone who's been skipped a couple times in this draft, which was my own fault.
