I wouldn't say I'm overly religious but I did lose a little respect for a certain group.  They said my wife and I were going to Hell for using a specialist to help us have a baby.
(I'm assuming this is a Christian faction) And that's what coach_deen is saying. So many people get lost in the motions and the rituals they forget what's really important- people. Serving the Lord. I go to a nondenominational church because of this, as it teaches the BIBLE, not the rituals.

The Catholics say theirs is the right way.  The Methodists think they are doing it right.  The Presbyterians, well I don't know what they believe but you can bet they are passionate about it.  It doesn't matter.  The Baptists say you're all going to hell if you aren't doing it their way.  It goes on and on.  With so many fractures within a single religion, can they all be right?  And what about all the other religions?  Is your omnipotent deity really so cold and callous that he's only going to consider your specific minority (of the world's population) and ignore the rest?  And if he is, does he really deserve praise and adoration?

It doesn't matter whether you worship God, Allah, Jehovah, a Spaghetti Monster, or no one at all, religious tolerance is the way of things now.  Live your life right, treat other people right, and try to make a positive difference in the world around you.  Nothing else matters.  The rest is just details.

You would be correct.

Atheist.

For any other aetheists out there you should watch the documentary Religulous with Bill Mahr.  It is hilarious.  For all of the religous people you should watch it too (you can fast forward when they get to your religion)

Jesus is not real, the bible is a book of fiction to make people feel good before video games and air conditioning...

Apparently, the first testament was written by the Jews as a way to control simple-minded barbarians of the time into thinking whatever bad deeds they did, an all-powerful, all-knowing entity would smite them instantly.

I am a Christian and understand even more 1 Corinthians 1:18 , "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
