ok, so taking a guy with only 45 gms played there is a 50% chance he will get injured at some point? but that doesnt mean it will be a huge injury right? it could just be for 3 games and hes healthy the rest of the way? So you could take a risk with 2 or 3 high risk/high reward guys and you should be ok? esp if you are deep in those positions?
greeny, a guy with 45 games played
might make it through the entire season without being injured, but it's unlikely. and when he does get injured it will be a minimum of eight games or something. could be over twenty. a guy with less than half a season in games played (ie 41 out of 84) will almost certainly go down at some point and often will be out for half a season or more. a guy with less than 25 percent games played (ie 20 out of 84) will almost certainly at some point go down for 70 plus games. there is no hard rule though. sometimes a player can beat the odds. the higher the odds though, the less chance of beating them. if a player has 75% games played or more, they don't often get injured, and when they do, it is usually only for two to four games. (though i think i've seen as much as eight for guys right at 75% gp) that's why i almost always draft players with 75% or more (and often 85% or more). the closer to a full season, the less chance of getting injured at all. and don't forget about high PIM players getting two game suspensions as well. :>
