What a wise response.

Tell me where Capitalism failed and Communism  worked!
Who is advocating communism? Regardless, China is proving to be an economic growth machine that is near recession-proof, for now. That being said, nobody wants to be China.

Failed Capitalism: Germany 1935, USA 1935 & 2008

Both are bad. Unregulated economies are as problem-ridden as pure socialism and for opposite reasons. Sometimes deregulation is important and sometimes regulation is important. The capitalism v. communism debate is a strawman with no basis in reality. Nobody has proposed communism and to debate it is a pointless waste of time.

"pointless waste of time"?

Sounds like another swamp debate.

Before you guys sprain something patting yourselves on the back wrmiller compared Capitaism and Communism and I was responding to that post. I wonder why none of you took the time to blast him?

Again on one is advocating 100% deregulation. To even mention seems like...what would a good phrase be...maybe a strawman?

No one wants to ban government. We just want to return to some level of sanity.

Swamp - check your reading - I did not compare capitalism to communism, other than to say that both are human created systems, that look ideal on paper, but when implemented by people, they both get mucked up.

China is attempting to split the economic and the social sides.  People in China have economic freedom, in terms of they can buy what they would like, not just on needs.  However,  they still don't have any social freedoms.  Kind of like an old European feudal system.

Communism can never be successful as an economic system because people suck.  There are the select few pigs and everyone else has to get in line.

And Capitalism, in it's purist form (communism being that for socialism), has the same problem.  That's why the current 35 year trend of deregulating every private sector is currently being exposed as a failure.

Except for Snowball, of course, who is the enemy of the Farm.

Same here. For me, that would be about the level of the Eisenhower Administration.  We are nowhere close to the mount of regulation needed.

How do you get that reference, but then screw up the title?

I'm really asking. I don't understand how that is even possible. It'd be as if someone made an Emmanuel Goldstein reference, and you responded with "Oh, yeah, 1977. Great book."
