The team won 88 last season, but with two powerhouse teams in-division, I don't feel close to contending.  I have little or nothing in the way of prospects to trade.  It's kind of a tough spot.
You could also focus on rebuilding and trade some of that talent to me.

chap's old team isn't as good as his record would have suggested.  You had more talent than he did and you could easily pass that team up this season.
I failed to extend Washington's contract and he won't talk to me.  I'll need to do fairly well just to catch up to last season's talent level.
You aren't going to win the bet at this point...  may as well focus on accruing as much talent as you can.

It's like how I refuse to play golf because I know I'm screwed as soon as I try it.

In KP, I would probably be going in the other direction if it weren't for my bet with robusk.
What? you think you still have a chance of winning that?
7/22/2010 10:45 AM
Heh, I won't give up that easy.  Of course you will win if you see it through, but I will make every effort to accrue as many points as possible.  Part of the motivation for me making the bet was forcing myself out of my comfort zone and trying to start an organization from the ground floor with a win now approach.

Remember, if Uskerman doesn't get through 5 seasons, he doesn't win.  He's flaky enough he could run off to Tibet or some ****.

Look at your moves in $ and HR.  The transformation is complete.  You are a new TM.

So let's make a deal.

what cycle do the usual HBD FAs who are very close between two teams decide?

At the current rate, I could probably take the last season or two off and still win.

Siriusly though, that world really lacks action that makes $ and HR fun.  There are quite a few owners from here that I like, but the other owners are generally too passive.

You'll probably know what is up at 1500.

Busk- countered again.

The spirit of the bet at the very least requires 5 seasons participation.

And neither new TM or old TM would be making any deals with you in this situation, regardless of how dead in the water I am in the bet.

Done.  That seems like a worse deal for you in my opinion but I guess if you are more interested in younger players, it works for me.

there's plenty of passive owners in Shtickless. We had two teams that were basically abandoned all last year. Some guys are quiet in KP but I almost never saw an extended absence. Almost everyone checked in every single day. Granted that doesnt mean they are entirely active, but its a good sign.

Siriusly, Bret?  The guy you gave up is a major leaguer.  Not great, but not bad, and 24 years old and pre-arb.  And you got nothing in return.  Why?

It wasn't much the interest in younger players, it was the fact that mercedes did not interest me at all.  And I think that young P has got some up side, but then again this is me so what do I know.
