It was about how he hates the side to side scrolling of the web page on the SSA computers. Nothing noteworthy, but with only two posts to his name, I wanted to see what would happen if I reported them and some old ones too.

I just lost Timo Reed for 85 days in HR.

At what point can I bring up a prospect with three seasons completed and not start the arb clock? Also, if anyone wants this guy he's available for a minor league hitter.

It's different from errors, because errors can be charged liberally. The +/- places direct notation on the number of positive or negative defensive plays someone makes.

A SS can get charged for an error when your 1B with no range can't make the stretch to get a throw. And the fact is that errors are much more random than + or - plays.

Isn't +/- a judgement call to? What makes an average player?

Even if the 1b gets the error and it was really the ss fault its still one team error.

My question was how do you rank team defense in the standing. +/- seems like more of an individual stat than a team stat just like in hockey.

Looking at both equally really gives you a good perspective.  If you have an above average F%, with a positive balance of +/- plays, you are an above average defensive player.  If their F% is above average, but their +/- ratio is negative, they probably have poor range, but do the routine aspects of their job well, flip that, andthey probably have good range, and are lacking in either glove, or arm ability.

This I agree with although robusk only thinks errors count for 1/6 credit in the formula for ranking team d and then calls me retarded.
