Shtickless - Unless Being Dead Is A Shtick Topic

I thought the Leonard deal was toast when I accidentally posted my TC response to Nellie of which I was supposed to post to robusk (which was a direct quote of nellie's right back to him).

The one difference is that due to the free agency update, Leonard will be harder to make a career Slore.
yeah that will be tough. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
Tanner Miller looks like a lower durabilty equivalent of Octavio Valenzuela - http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=2624748  He also has health issues too though, so you'll probably have to be more careful about keeping him from playing tired.
thanks - fo sho.  I will sub him at 98 with Santiago ( batted .341 with 400+ abs last season) as aften as he needs. damn - I hope Tanner puts up those #s.

robusk 7/28/2010 10:44 AM That sounds like TM talk.

robusk 7/28/2010 10:36 AM I think you typically overestimate the likelihood of people wanting the deals you are offering.
moy23 7/28/2010 10:34 AM My TP on the table is in favor 60/40 of him accepting it after I just upped the ante this morning.

Nellie 7/28/2010 11:12 AM No problem...
moy23 7/28/2010 10:40 AM ignore that nellie - sorry. I'm trying to work a deal to follow this one up to fill my gaping hole at lead off hitter - dude was wondering where my existing deal is at in talks.

Should be very similar if you account for the fact that he'll play fewer games, and thus likely have fewer HRs, RBIs, etc.  I have Valenzuela set to auto-rest at 98 as well, though I've taken that off down the stretch the last two seasons while we were in close races.  I've not had an AL team, so I don't know if Miller being a DH as opposed to a 1B helps much in terms of his fatigue.

Probably worth about 50 AB per season from what I have seen.

that glove has a long way to go.  might not make SS but he'd be great elsewhere and fantastic in the OF if thats where you need him.

I'm not sure with that BE he'd be a great lead off hitter but would excel in the 7-9 spots.

I like the guy a lot.  Solid fielder obvi.  Probably an inconsistent hitter ranging from .260 - .300 avg in any given season but his base-running skills are better than pretty much anyone.  I'm concerned about his BE at leadoff - thats why I say not a great #1 hitter in the line-up

my guess it will help only that he gets a few more games automatically off.  i don't know if HBD even accounts for fielders fielding.
