Been projecting him as my 3B of the future, if I don't trade him in my neverending quest for an ace.

I don't like to develop players (ya think)  in in my experience a guy like this will fetch a lot on a team that is giving away players (and salary) for prospects. 

I'm pretty sure it is the shtick around here to say I got raped in every trade I do cause I give away so much to get one great player - yet I still end up with a winning team every season. I'm starting to enjoy this. 

I don't understand Bot's trade. I like BJ Taylor the best of any of the guys in that trade. Maybe I really undervalue high L/R splits, but Swindell doesn't have good enough stuff, plus the sucky 5th pitch will hurt him.

This is silliness - even your biggest critics have said about how good you are at acquiring talent.

I've heard I got raped on Davies, Morrie, Hartman, Flynn, Higgy leaving, and now Leonard.

Did someone actually say rape on Leonard, or did they just say they really liked the deal for Nellie?  Those are different things.

Cause I'm becoming generally convinced that what people write about you and what you typically read when they do so are often only very loosely connected.

bot has a ton of RP (and DH/subC) talent every season.  If you got it - trade it for the guys you want.  Its expendible.

true.  but no one until now said they wanted Leonard.  It was very one sided towards nellie got the better of that deal fo shizzo

I think the idea is that you could end up with better teams than you have.  If you stuck with a version of your model where you developed players better and were more patient with trades, you would actually do pretty damn well in the post season.

It is a good model on the basic level, you just have not done well at executing.

I would say a budget model of 20 Training, 14 Medical, 6 International Scouting, 20 Prospect Budget, 20 Advanced Scouting, 10 Coaches, 1 HS, 1 College, 93 Player Payroll with smarter trades, more patience at development and fiscal responsibility with contracts and you would be kicking *** instead of being slightly above average.

If your goal is to have a winning record, then stick with your model.  If your goal is to actually be a threat to win the WS season after season, you need to step up your game.

Swindell will be a sub 3 ERA for his career with around 150 IP per season if used properly.
