I've heard I got raped on Davies, Morrie, Hartman, Flynn, Higgy leaving, and now Leonard.
Did someone actually say rape on Leonard, or did they just say they really liked the deal for Nellie?  Those are different things.
true.  but no one until now said they wanted Leonard.  It was very one sided towards nellie got the better of that deal fo shizzo
Huh?

There were like 2 comments to the effect of Nellie getting the better of the deal, then you started talking about his team management in general again - so I suppose technically he's correct.

I'm pretty sure it is the shtick around here to say I got raped in every trade I do cause I give away so much to get one great player - yet I still end up with a winning team every season. I'm starting to enjoy this.

I think the idea is that you could end up with better teams than you have.  If you stuck with a version of your model where you developed players better and were more patient with trades, you would actually do pretty damn well in the post season.

It is a good model on the basic level, you just have not done well at executing.

I would say a budget model of 20 Training, 14 Medical, 6 International Scouting, 20 Prospect Budget, 20 Advanced Scouting, 10 Coaches, 1 HS, 1 College, 93 Player Payroll with smarter trades, more patience at development and fiscal responsibility with contracts and you would be kicking *** instead of being slightly above average.

If your goal is to have a winning record, then stick with your model.  If your goal is to actually be a threat to win the WS season after season, you need to step up your game.
Fair enough assessment and honest enough.  I think most of the dismal playoff experience is me not setting playoff pitching and hitting matchups vs my opponent in the past - I did it for the first time this season with Salem.  I pretty much put my team on autopilot in the past.  I'm going to change that up from now on just to **** everyone off when I get to the playoffs.

Nellie for sure won that deal.

go back and read - not one person said I got the better of that deal.  It helps both teams.  I'd suspect my team will still always outperform nellie's.

Playoff strategy is overrated.  I employ it but it is only like 10% of the battle.  Making good decisions in the first 1-2 weeks of the season is like 80% of the battle.

moy - only 3 people really commented on the deal initially at all - uskerman and herz both said it was a good deal for Nellie, Dubbs called it a panic move.

We legitimately kick you around in here enough, you really shouldn't have to manufacture bulletin board material.

I started swapping out Hootie ( a dismal playoff performer) against LHP.  I also started checking out tandem pitching.   Who is coming in (LH vs RHP) after 3-4 innings and tried to put in the best hitting for the overall scenario.  I beat BP because I'd put in RHP since his hitters were loaded against LHP.  Little things like that.  Ace just pulled off the impossible.  Props to him.

I won't miss Luis V.  I have talent and I traded for a guy thats unassigned (cause he'd have to be waived to place in AAA) to take his place (the cbriese SP deal).  He won't be great but he will spell RP and is solid vs RH hitters.  His minors stats are impressive.  I can live with Luis V gone especially considering I did rape nlmiller to get him.  I will absolutely miss esposito no matter how I spin it.

Yeah, but then overblowing the "you all said I screw up everything and I just keep winning anyway!" shtick is really just another way to **** the same football.
