And I just received this from Santiago Chavez. He asked me to post it in here.
I’d like to start out saying what an honor it is to be standing before you today, following in the footsteps of true giants of the game such as Mr. Rhodes and Mrs. Cooper. To see my bust up here beside those two is truly a humbling experience. I’m glad I don’t have to go in with that greezy yella bastard Dick Yoshii. My old man taught me to hate three things: the Japanese, people who live in Pittsburgh, and the homeless. Maybe one day soon, Yoshii can be all three. First and foremost, I’d like to thank my coach, GM, and wingman…Nuge, you’re an inspiration to me on the field and in the bedroom. I’d like to thank Joe Morton, battling you always made me step my game up to the next level, you were constantly pushing me, and I can’t wait for you to be in here with me. Jacob Martin and Mitch Scott…we went through a lot together. 12 years for me, 15 for the two of you, unfortunately for me, I missed out on that ring you two won together. Which reminds me, I’d like to show a little hate to that douche nfet. He threw way too much money at me, made it impossible for Nuge to resign me, and cost me a shot at that ring. On top of that, he bailed before my contract was done and left me to play for a pair of jerkoff owners before I could return to the only team I ever wanted to play for to finish my career. Last, but most certainly not least, I would like to thank the namesake of the franchise whose hat I wear as I’m immortalized today, Mr. Anthony Salvatore Iadanza. You know him as Tony from Taxi, Tony from Who’s the Boss, but he’ll always just be Tony to me. He’s a man of many talents, a star of stage, screen, and song and an American Icon like no other. I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for you, Tony. When you dove headfirst into home during the opening credits of Who’s the Boss pretty much says it all. Even though you were out, you gave it your all. There WERE times we lost a dream or two, but I found the trail, and at the end was you.Â
Thank you.
