My question is where was your outrage when Bush and the Republicans were spending out of control and running the deficit into record territory? Can you act like this is horrible if it happened for 8 years under Bush and no one cared?

If you want me to rundown the list again I can, but you know what they are. Why is it suddenly so outrageous under Obama?

Conservatives always seem to be very upset when their side is out of power, but never seem to care when they are the ones spending billions of unchecked dollars?
There were Conservatives screaming at Bush. Who do you think stopped his Radical Immigration reform scheme. Who were the only voices against his Huge Medicare prescription drug plan. We were screaming everytime he did something crazy.

We supported the war, and there were costs that came with it. We supported the Tax cuts and all the economic growth it created. The tax cuts decresed the deficit so that was never an issue.

The fact is that Bush was bad, but Obama is insane. His avarage annual deficit is almost 3 times that of Bush. And Bush was pretty bad.

Bush made bad decisions about some things. Obama has made some horrific decisions.

swamp will do anything to get me to engage directly with him. I follow the old advice,":do not suffer fools".
You just cant handle the truth!

I "do not suffer fools"
How is that for truth?

Silver or Lead is a good movie to watch about problems along the Mexican border. There is actually alot of corruption on our side of the border. Many American officials have been caught taking bribes from the Mexican drug cartels. The power of the drug cartels is overwhelming on the Mexican side. There is one city that doesnt have a police chief because no one wants the job. They dont want to die.

Again I am the main person presenting a differening point of view. All the liberals agree on most topics. There are others, Doug had been doing a great job and I respect his Rush thread greatly.

Again what is it about my positions that make them foolish as opposed to different?

According to whose numbers?

Why do you bother? You can't argue with fiction.

It has been proven that the federal revenue increased after the Bush tax cuts. It wasnt lower taxes that increased the debt, but increased spending.

Who cares if it is Democrat or Republican? Really, what does that matter. We can all see how our Senators and Representatives voted. In this economy, if they voted to spend more money. Just fire them. Ignore the party label on them and get rid of all the selfish, lying,  incompetent pigs.

That isnt realsitic. It sounds good, but you need to vote for the people that belive what you believe. You need to analyze every issue and find the person who will come closest to doing what you would do.

Its realistic to me. Its how I vote. And its just what you said, so its realistic to you. If the only issue that I am concerned with right now is spending, then it just makes my job easier the next election.

Cut the defense budget in half and you will blow the deficit in no time. Problem solved.

Again, though, that's my concern with most Tea Party candidates. If you're cutting spending and also cutting taxes -- which most of them seem to advocate -- you're not getting anywhere at all on the deficit. The Laffer Curve is not an inviolate law of economics.

Tax revenue has risen on cutting taxes in the past. However, spending increased as revenue increased. If they cut taxes and it doesnt sitmulate the economy at least the bigger problem will have been addressed. Focus on cutting spending, then focus on reducing the deficit.
