So much for the idea of full disclosure and transparency?

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columns/Obama-closes-curtain-on-transparency-468557-100595914.html

How so? Eisen left and got replaced by two people, who the op-ed writer doesn't like because - gasp! - one of them is a reasonably prominent Washington Democrat.

There's nothing in that article to indicate that things will be any different under Bauer/Croley than they were under Eisen. Nothing. Now, if you want to argue that things weren't particularly transparent under Eisen, fine. But I don't see how this at all represents a policy shift for Obama.

This is just another example of how Obama, who campaigned on openness, is actually a little bit less open than the Bush Administration was, and Bush wasnt exactly open himself.

What issue does Obama have left for 2012?

The Rand Paul campaign continues to look good only in comparison to Sharron Angle's...

This plays into my theme of the liberal media's attacks on the Tea Party.

Rand Paul is being portrayed as crazy and racist. Anything he says is amplified by a scale of 10. Any issue from his past is viewed as relevant to 2010 politics. Even his certification as an opthalmologist is covered in the media like the Watergate break-in.

This guy is smart and well informed on economic issue. His medical backround giver him interesting insights into many issues. He is equal to the Democrat in character and superior in intelligence.

This guy was a freight train that the Dems needed to derail. Lacking any issues they can still use to get elected, they resort to trash!

Last combat troops leaving Iraq right now (50K advisors being left behind of course... it's like a reverse Vietnam). Unfortunately MSNBC is the only one with an embedded reporter, so you have to put up with Olberman if you want to watch this particular little slice of history unfold.

Yay!

Only 4733 soldiers died to get the guy who tried to get "Daddy".

Good trade off.

Thanks for making me smile today. I find it absolutely hilarious that people actually pass on what people like Mr. Keeling write to try to save one of their own politicians.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it’s because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

We should only replace them with people who will repeal the laws that spend money regardless of raised revenue.

No matter what some idiot Republican or Democrat columnist will dare to say to hurt their chances of saving our country.

Where's that from? I could Google it but I figured it'd be easier to ask.

And none of that addresses Keeling's point, which is that Paul is all about national issues and not about things important to Kentucky.

And free the people of Iraq from a brutal dictator, create a stable democratic country that is friends with its neighbors and does not hate America or pay people to murder Israelis.

Can you provide ANY evidence that Bush launched Iraqi freedom to avenge a failed, and not really realistic, plot against his father? I can wait.

Since Paul is running for Senate isnt "National over local" his actual job?

Isnt mentioning this the kind of thing Rush would do, and you claim to hate?

Most of it is from my brothers e-mail. It applies because Rand Paul is running against the incumbent that  we need to get rid of.  Keeling states anything to keep the status quo of the good ole boy network in power in Washington.
8/19/2010 5:26 PM
Paul is not running against an incumbent. Where did you get that idea? The seat is Jim Bunning's, a (forcibly) retired Republican. The Dems nominated Jack Conway, who was the Attorney General.

Googling it didn't help. The bulk of that screed has been floating out there a while now, it looks like.

A dictator that we put in power, then turned against when we didn't need him.  Instead of taking him out in '91, Bush I let him stay and blockaded the country subjecting 500,000 children to an early death.

There will never be a stable democracy in Iraq while we are occupying the joint.  Elections will only be validated when our candidate wins.

False.  There is no incumbent.  And who the hell is Keeling?
