i think i read today that the Pirates went from the best defense in MLB last season to the worst this season. thats remarkable.
I like how they use the coach as a scapegoat for the season...granted he's lost 299 games in his time at the healm, but who wouldn't when you have a team with no verteran talent.

I think the best line I heard on the radio this morning was how it was the coaches fault for allowing Walker & Tobada(sp) to play the last game of the season and have their batting averages fall below .300 when it would've been the first time in 111 years they would've have two players hit above that mark in the same season.

6 more wins until Hootie gets his ring.
I remember a time when Hootie was only 1 win away from a ring - then he almost died.
I am trying to figure out when to pull the trigger this time...do I let him get to the WS or should I just end it with the next game?

I just voted for the post season awards in $...found it a little odd all the NL ROY candidates were pitchers.

To be fair, anyone who still cares about the Pirates is probably mentally unstable to begin with.

Julio Almanza LumberKings coonja76 P 0 0 .000 .000 0 0 - 1 1.34 0.89 .194 1.000

So this is a ROY candidate in KP, huh.

OK- I would've been better if they showed him 35/37 in SVO

I don't think the probability of mental instability goes down when you move the sample to people who work for the Pirates. In fact, if anything it probably increases.

true point cheez.  it's sad they can't force the Nuttings to sell the team to someone that will actually try and do something to better them.
