true point cheez.  it's sad they can't force the Nuttings to sell the team to someone that will actually try and do something to better them.
If the system wasn't set up to allow them to be one of the most profitable franchises year in and year out despite no attempt to field a quality product, it probably wouldn't be an issue.

I know, it truly is a shame because I enjoy seeing games at PNC Park, but to spend money on a team that doesn't spend money on itself just doesn't make sense.  There was so much money spent to build that stadium and when you can't even sell out opening day, wow.

At least, I root for a team where fans realize they will get some talent in there even if they don't win.

Here, they don't even try to upgrade the roster.  It is funny to hear next year will be the turning point for the past 8yrs. and yet again, I heard it this morning.  "Those 5 rookies will make a difference next season, but only if they get a manager here that keeps them motivated."

If only tracyr was here to enlighten us on people talking about wins and losses for quarterbacks...

McNabb is being treated like he did anything well, when he just had two completions on blown coverages and then nothing else noteworthy. Just a bad game otherwise, and probably played the worst of any of the three quarterbacks involved.

Meanwhile Kolb might face criticism when all he did was lead the Eagles back and come within a clean-drop by the Eagles' most sure-handed receiver on the last play of the game from winning. Odd.
I don't even disagree with any of that.  But nobody's really saying McNabb had a good game, that I've seen.  The local Washington people certainly weren't.  He hardly had enough pass attempts for it to be a reasonable sample.

But the criticism of Kolb that I've heard is silly.  He did a very nice job of taken what he was given.  Haslett chose to shut down Jackson/Maclin at all costs, forcing it to them wouldn't have ended well.
That's where you throw the ball against a cover three. He moved the ball and he did his part. I don't fault the guy. You throw in the botched end-of-half by Reid and the McCoy fumble, I think he was the best quarterback on the field last week.

People might not be saying McNabb won that game singlehandedly, but he's getting the largest amount of praise and credit. Those McNabb getting vengeance headlines are just erroneous. What did he do?

It's the media - it's what they do. They were drooling over all the potential storylines going into that game, and got virtually nothing.

You are playing the overly sensitive Philly fan more than usual.  Most things I've seen have made a point of saying McNabb didn't have a particularly good game, but that the win was obviously the most important thing, to him and overall.

Kolb will be an above average QB at least if they stop ******* with his head.

Exactly.  The media desperately wanted one or more of the following:

1.  The fans booing McNabb from the jump.
2.  McNabb lighting the Eagles up.
3.  McNabb getting smoked and the crowd piling on more and more hate
4.  A "Last Boyscout" scenario.

They got none, and are just making what they can out of it.

10-3 in auction this week, struggling toward being decent overall.  My other two teams are both 1-3 though.  Horrible first month of fantasy for me.

4-0, 4-0, 0-4, 0-4, 1-3 and 8-44.

I would have been 10-3, had I actually hit the submit button after switching Braylon Edwards in for Mike Sims-Walker. The Pats D/ST bailed me out big time this week.

that 8-44 is awesome
10/5/2010 1:31 PM
It's majestic.

In one of my 1-3's, I'm running shadow standings in breakdown format in an effort to convince the league to change to that format next season.  I'm 17-27 there, my other 1-3 is probably even worse.

Only 2-2 in that free league we did.  Need to get on the ball and keep myself in the playoff hunt for sidebet purposes.
