To anyone considering joining this league: Don't waste your time. This commissioner, Tedco, started a 1946 post-war progressive about 8 months ago. Many prospective owners were hesitant due to Tedco's lack of experience on WIS, but we decided to give the eager commish a chance. After nearly a month of intense drafting and hundreds of hours of planning and analyzing, the league lasted just one season. The commish didn't make an attempt to move the league from one year to the next, despite a relative lack of owners (12) - almost all of whom are of the highest quality. He stopped checking the private forum, his sitemails, and gave no effort to allay our concerns over the league's potential demise. He simply quit on the league.
Do not make the same mistake that I did.
Very classy just springing this in public without ever even asking me about it abf.
My 81 year old father in law who I provide virtually 24/7 care for was rushed to the hospital and spent two months in a nursing home recovering.
So I couldn't continue commishing at the time, or even run a team, which I told the league about. At the time, I just said it was because of personal reasons at home and left it at that, because, you know, my family's medical situations are none of your business.
And as far as not replying to sitemails or checking into the forum, that was because I couldn't be on WIS, which is why I couldn't continue in the post-war league... put two and two together please before you make assumptions.
Since then, as things have returned to normal on the home front, I have jumped back in to WIS and am participating in several leagues which I have been a part of for multiple seasons now with every intention of being in all of them for the long-term future.
And hey, just because I had a new username didn't mean I was new on the site. Do you think I would have been that thorough in launching a new progressive league if I was a total newbie?
I had hoped that one of the other owners would step in and continue the post-war league in my absence. If that didn't happen, that sucks, but honestly, it wasn't exactly my #1 priority at the time. That medical emergency disrupted my life in many ways, and believe it or not, some of them were a little bit more important than this website.
It's pretty irresponsible and childish to bring this up in this way, without even talking to me ahead of time. People, please do not listen to this user's ill-informed assumptions and accusations, and I hope you consider joining what will be a great long-term progressive here at WIS.
