No, I'm assuming a few things.  Like:
1.  Coach hiring is the most complained about aspect of the game
2.  Much of the complaining centers on the salary of "good" coaches
3.  The salary is a by-product of bidding wars
4,  You're suggesting a way to increase bidding wars
5.  The "more complicated" portion of the post refer to interface options NOT the process

You were correct until you got to #2.

Far more of the complaints dealt with the process than the eventual salary paid to coaches.

In fact, the only recurring salary complaint dealt with "good" coaches taking less money for a bench position over a fielding position, which was separately addressed.

I've read many, many posts that consist of "What fielding instructor makes 5m in MLB!??!?!???"

Never mind that FI doesn't really exist in MLB but the MAJOR complaint in coach hiring is the salary of a "good" FI.   They are not going to become cheaper, you know.   Especially is bidding wars are encouraged.

For the majority of owners, they certainly will become cheaper, because they can now opt to retain their existing fielding coach and avoid the process entirely.

If you want to try and go for the best, you should be willing to pay for the best.

Oddly enough, that's quite similar to my "That's the market" mantra I've used for 3-4 years.    Sadly, users aren't interested in hearing that.   If you say it often enough, and loud enough, maybe you'll catch me in number of "blocks".

Because that's not what the vast majority, or at least the vocal majority, want.   They want coach hiring to be easy and they want coaches to be cheap.   This update was an attempt to placate them.   Your suggestion is counterproductive to that.
