I don't like how if you are in the world series, you cannot demote the players from your playoff roster once the series is over.  You end up paying players 327,000+ to play in AAA the next season.

Once the WS is over, the world's season is over.  Once the season is over, it's "frozen".  I assume to prevent departing owners from doing anything really stupid.

i would think that the world series participants aren't going to do anything "stupid" at that point.  All of the other teams get a chance to demote before the season is over.

How many players are you carrying on your WS team that should be in AAA the next season?

I in some cases have 3 or 4. I bring up the guys who have 3 or 4 pro years and leave them on my playoff roster. I didn't have them in the regular season because I wasn't going to have them up as role players but in the playoffs I'd be more than happy to have some of my AAA guys be pinch hitters, defensive replacements, etc. because they are in many cases much better than the bench players I had during the regular season.

I mean in most cases those guys would be called up the majors after the 25 or so games the following season but it'd still be nice to be able to send them back down. Maybe add in an extra day after the final game for that kind of stuff?

Exactly!

One extra cycle is all I'd need.

I don't necessarily object to this, despite the OBVIOUS downside tec suggested, but I don't think you'll get much support.  I was caught in this too(only one player) but I sort of looked at it as the price you pay for going to the WS.   In short, it's costing you about 1m, if you have 4 players(which seems insane), for the next season.   You're one of the best teams, you'll survive.

For sure it's not a big deal.  In my case it was two players, so  it was an extra 650k that I had to spend the following season.  Just career AAAA position players that are better to have on a playoff roster than a couple of pitchers that are valuable over  a 162 game season, but won't throw a pitch in the playoffs.  But it can't be a big deal to allow one more cycle of roster activity after the WS ends.

550k.

If someone isn't coming back what's to stop them from doing stupid things during the world series? If they are going to do it they are going to do it. It doesn't matter when it is IMO. The extra day or cycle would be nice for the two ws teams without a doubt and is something I've been wondering about for a while.

Exactly.  Just demote them DURING the world series since they probably shouldn't be on your playoff roster at that point.

Many owners have a PR, PH, or extra C that they add to the playoff roster but prefer not to have in the ML otherwise.
