Why can't we do this in the playoffs?

Im pretty sure you can do it until that particular team is eliminated from the playoffs.  You've had all season to do it ;)

No, it's locked down once the regular season ends.

I would question why you have a need to do this in the playoffs.

Injuries change who I want to start or play at certain positions, and without making that change I can't make them eligible or see simmy's lineup recommendations appropriately.   Why lock it down?

I've run into the same problem, brought up a recent top draft pick after 2 seasons of development.  I was keeping him down in the minors allowing his glove to develop more, but knowing that I can use him for the playoffs, called him up the last day of the season after my AAA team bowed out.  I would like to change primary positions, mostly just to get the recs on defensive subs, then alter from there.  Seems to make things a tad bit easier.  Seems illogicial that you can't, I'm sure there's a reason for it, what I don't know.

After a full regular season of play, you should have a good feeling for who can play at each position, who you want starting, and what your lineup/batting order should be.

If you're depending upon SIMMY to tell you what to do in the post-season, you're probably doing yourself a great disservice.

I also bring up minor league players for the offseason that I haven't taken the time to set the positioning the way I want to, and my preferences there can also be impacted by injuries.  Why lock it down?

A ******** who's departing could make life hell for a n00b taking his team the next season.

Position players moved to pitchers.    Pitchers moved to SS.   ********* have a lot of time on their hands.

Why not just take the time to set your own damn positioning?  You have around two months to set up every level of your team exactly the way you want it, and now you're complaining that you can't change stuff during the last week?

I won't argue that, and I won't trust the simmy to set what to do in the postseason, but I can use the simmy to make my job a few minutes easier.  Since the positional moves I'm thinking about will effect a handful of guys, I can use the recs, then go from there.  perhaps only have to adjust a couple of positions to make sure I'm not bringing in a defensive sub where I don't want, etc...  No different then when I start a year, I hit rec on my pitching staff, which has most of my guys on rest at the end of ST, so I can get the basic roles in place, then adjust the few spots that need adjusting.

Its not a huge deal, I'm just not sure I understand the benefits of shutting it down.  If a guy wants to be a dick and screw things up for the next owner, he can do far worse than switching the listed positions.  If you're inexperienced enough that after 18 ST games, you can't figure out why the guy listed at SS looks more like a catcher or DH, then you've still got a lot to learn.

I don't think you can move the position of pitchers any more.

Why even list positions then, you have all season to make adjustments?

Its not a huge deal, but it does save me a few clicks in this instance, but if they're going to give me that option on day 1, why take it away once the postseason starts?  heck, I can still resign guys once the postseason starts, or release guys if I want.  Put on a star 20 year old on the Waiver wire if you like, but by golly, don't even think about moving his listed position from 2b to CF.

If I remember right, when you take a new team over, the positioning gets reset anyway.

When you have injuries during the playoffs, you may be forced to make position adjustments.  Why lock it down?
