As opposed to a World HOF, allow owners to add one player per season to their team HOF.   Maybe make it effective in S20 of each world.

Then, if you really want/need a World HOF, let Simmy pick the best 3 each season because league-wide voting isn't working.

In short, an owner might know a handful of players from his league.  But AL owners hardly know NL players and vice versa.   So why would they even be compelled to vote for them especially when the screen loads at a snail's pace?

I like it.  Equivalent to retiring a number etc...

The point is not many owners care about anyone but their own players in the HOF.

Very true.

Plus it would give us something to complain about.

"How in the hell could Simmy choose Jimmy Flyout over my guy, Jack Emptyhomer, for the world HOF?  That's just stupid!"

Sort of like the A/S selections.

I keep one in my head and yell "JAMEY CAMBRIDGE!!!!" at the beginning of HOF voting.

I definitely agree that individual team HOFs would be an excellent addition to the game, and I even think it'd be nerdy fun to make up an imaginary jersey number for the player and have a picture of his retired jersey with team colors, jersey number, and name on the back....

I disagree with eliminating the world HOF though.  I have posted in previous thread that a good incentive to vote for the HOF would be that everybody who votes would get one DiTR for their team.  I think people who don't care about voting might vote for the chance they might hit a DiTR jackpot.

I really like the Retired Jersey idea...it's geeky but it would be a fun thing to do each rollover.

The HOF can't be anything but nerdy fun.    Right now, it's nothing more than an annoyance with the slow-loading nomination screen, bugged up voting screen and voter apathy.

Letting us "revisit" our past players by putting them all in one spot seems like the way to go.   Now, when I do it(which is nerdy in itself), I either have to go to old stats screens or team records.

GIMME MY PERSONAL MONUMENT PARK!!!!!

On that note, I have always wondered why, if WIS can give all of these players heights, weights, etc., they can not provide jersey numbers for the players.  It's a small, meaningless detail, but one that I like haha.  And it would be cool to retire numbers, though again, fairly meaningless.

(Not trying to hijack, sorry guys)

Well should've read all the other support for retired jerseys before claiming the idea as my own haha
