Why?

To push your rivals' comp pick back further.

Why?
I want to easily view who is and who isn't on that list so I can make a decision based on that information. Maybe I don't want to consider Type A guys b/c I am trying to have a good draft. I currently have to click into each negotiation link to find out the type status of each guy. Maybe I don't want my rivals getting a supplemental pick and will consider a lower talent FA (especially if I am just trying to fill in for depth). I am sure those smarter than me can come up with a few better uses for this information.

Just hover your cursor over the player's name.   It will tell you before you open the player page.

Sure. I guess. Or they could put the Type in a column on the Free Agent Report/Targets grid.  You know, to make the application more user friendly.

BTW, Tool Tips are a really crappy way of displaying information.  A column would be better.

****, it takes all of 2 minutes to accomplish this.  Sort by salary.  Move over players name.  Add to list.

And it would take all of 10 seconds to view it in a column.  What is your point?

Why does it seem like people are so opposed to improving the usability of the application?

I think the simplification would make it easier to accomplish what I suggested.

I sign my division rival's Type A.    He gets the 22nd pick.    I don't want him to have the 22nd pick.  So I wait for the crappy Type A to drop their demands.  I sign 4 more at 1.1m so my rival gets 178th pick.  I can still do that now but I have to work for it.   List the Type A for me and there's no work for me.

The type A catchers don't demand as much salary as most type B starting pitchers.  And released players with high overall ratings will be at the top of that list too.
