My main argument, though, is DITRs, which has potential to be a outstanding aspect of the game. I think this is the most pressing need we have, as it seems to be so unfulfilling as dissatisfying season after season.

Improving DITRs would do so much for this game, as it would add an element of randomness that currently is all but gone in this engine. Just the fact of opening up that profile to see how big a jump he gets would be outstanding, instead of saying "Geez, I hope this career minor leaguer can turn into a serviceable 30th guy on my expanded roster."

But this thread is about your suggestion, not my ongoing quest to improve DITRs. Like I said, I like the change, but I feel as if it can wait.

Does NOBODY ELSE want to know who blocked them? It's bugging me....

And to contribute to the conversation, I again say I side with Mike, there is not enough RL justification for this, and definitely not enough in-game justification. It would be a nice little addition, but in NO WAY do I believe it should be a priority.
Why do you care who blocked you?

It bugs me.

And also, technically that thread already had the pot being stirred, compliments of...drum roll please....MikeT23.  King of Trolls.
That thread had not been posted in for nearly 24 hours when you jumped in.  So what was your motivation?

That doesn't answer the "why".

Hehe.

You know what I find funny?   I couldn't care less what he says, when he says it or where he says it.    He disappears but, when he returns, he seeks me out and has to respond to me even though he knows I blocked him months, if not years, ago.

This is true. Perhaps I'm a little self-conscious.

Actually, it is just because I would find it interesting to know who blocked me so that I could stop posting in all their threads and save my time for somewhere else.

I'd also like to see my favorites. But these are stupid reasons, so carry on with the debate at hand. Just wanted to know if anyone else felt the same way I did.

Aww come on Mikey, we all know that you sneak a peak and then pretend you didn't read it.   Sad, sad little man living in his sad, sad little fantasy world because his real world is girlfriendless, childless, jobless, purposless, and going nowhere with nothing to look forward to other than dying alone.

Perhaps he can move it to the Dr. Phil forum.

And death should focus on his own team...

Seneca, Mercado, and Parrish all came into games at positions they weren't supposed to play.

Not, nyet, no.
There's a thing called a lineup.

All I can see here is someone trying to make a suggestion being attacked.  Deathinahole, take apollo's advice and try to comprehend what it is that he's suggesting before shooting it down.  You really are making an *** of yourself.  I might not like what I've read from apollo in other threads, but in this one, he is trying to make a point, and people are derailing the thread with personal attacks or misbegotten notions about what it is he's asking for.  MikeT has made a decent case of trying to prove that this wouldn't improve the game much, and that might be true, but he comes off as arrogant with his "thread closed" bullshit.  This is a decent idea, and if you read his original  post, you can see how this game has a flaw in it that can cost you a game, which can cost you a playoff spot, or with the ultimate of bad timing, a championship.  I'm no programmer, but I can see how simmy could be programmed to logically come to the conclusion that your current LF might be a better option for 2b over the pinch hitter that just came in.  So as long as your current LF has 2b as a secondary position, why shouldn't simmy move the LF to 2b, and put the pinch hitter in LF?  I see this type of position switching quite often in real life.
"Okay, so it tied in the bottom of the 9th.  My pinch hitter with very poor fielding comes in for my second baseman and ties the game.  Now we go to the 10th, and my poor fielding pinch hitter is playing second base, and gives up a game losing error.  It would be nice if the game was smart enough to move him to LF and move my good fielding LFer to 2b.  What's the point of hiring a manager when they don't do anything anyway...."

That's exactly what's he's saying.

Follow the logic....

Pinch hit...done.
Start next inning.
Who goes in at 2nd? No one. Because dipshit hasn't any secondary positions set on his players. "ok then, I guess I leave ****** fielding dude here at 2nd"

By not having his 2ndary fielding positions, simmy had to read the little dot of mind he has.

Which means we come around to he's ******** that WIFS screwed him up the *** when did the humping himself.

Ergo, shoheadbob, STFU

He doesn't say that the pinch hitter is not a 2b.  He just says that his LF is a better 2b than him.  Don't you think that you might be jumping to conclusions a bit?  How do you know that he doesn't have his secondary fielding positions set?  If they are or not is irrelevant to this suggestion.
1/26/2012 11:38 PM
Look at his team. He has three guys with 2ndary positions set. The rest are one position players. That's what double closed the thread. Then Mike triple closed it. It should have been quintuple closed by now.
