Sims should not recruit Topic

....

Instead of sims recruiting 12 players should be placed on sim teams when rosters are completed.  Those 12 should be equally disseminated by class (4 3 seniors, 3 juniors, 3 sophs and 3 frosh with corresponding IQ).  Their ratings should be equal to 80% of the average of human recruited players for each class.

This would do many things:
  • At 80%, it would make sims more competitive without threatening humans on a long-term basis.
  • Would make it more appealing for new users.  Most new users choose their initial team based on a personal connection.  If their choice is one that has two strikes on it before their first season, the current setup is a quick way to say, "one and done."
  • Wouldn't screw conference mates as far as sos
  • Wouldn't screw with a remote team's recruiting since the one decent local recruit in 3 years wouldn't be randomly considering a sim.
  • It would balance the power of sims and make more parity among sims (see above #2).

Rails, how would you account for the removal of the sims causing demand to fall in the normal recruit pool?  I.e. wouldn't it make it too easy for the humans?

Right now the number of recruits generated is based on total teams.  The number of total recruits would have to be reduced to correlate with the # human teams--those actively recruiting.  With how easy it is to beat out a sim, and with 70% of them it's already easy.

I see comments about how "great" people are doing in recruiting.  Of course they are.  The number of recruits generated are based on totals (sim and humans) and when most teams are sims, it's not hard to predict that the 30% humans are having a field day.

The term "great" with 30% humans is a lot different than "great" with 100% humans.

i like the  idea. Anything to make the games against SIM's more than a automatic W, it would go along way toward making this game even better. But we all know Seble does not read these suggestions

The only issue I see with that is that you never know what teams wll be vacated that following season. So you will have recruits generated based upon the previous seaons' numbers, not the current...
