Oh, and just to drive my point home about how nonsensical this event was: out of all the 384 teams in DIII Tark, my team is ranked #8 in team foul margin, with -6.8 per game.

My SOS is 30, so they weren't exclusively against cupcakes.

No, I mean it should just be in the other forum.  You'll get more feedback about what happened in the game and if there really is something amiss.  Then you can bring it back here with a specific suggestion to improve the game.  I'm not really sure what specific change in the game you want to see.

BTW, I don't care if you want to post it here I just think you'll get better results in the main forum.

That's cool, I see your point, but I thought simply posting it here would cut down on redundancy. I think this example shows that the parameters which determine the likehood of a foul on any given possession are either extremely inconsistent or fail to put enough weight on the primary factors that influence fouls. Feedback would be great (though the season has rolled over and some of the pertinent information is no longer available), but the main result I wanted to accomplish by posting it here was to attempt to bring it to the attention of the powers that be.

The title may be teetering on the melodramatic, but it doesn't change the fact that this event should not have taken place. I'm not mad about losing the game, but it is unacceptable for three "fouls in the backcourt" to be committed by experienced players within the first five minutes of a half (especially given the other factors that were influencing the probability of a foul that I previously mentioned). I don't demanding perfection in the slightest, but it is very uninspiring when nonsensical scenarios play a large factor in determining the outcome of a game.
